Now you don't have to guess when it's time to apply more sunscreen! These smart stickers will alert you when your child needs more protection. They measure UVB rays, changing from yellow to deep orange when sun exposure approaches dangerous levels. Just stick on clothing or skin after applying sunscreen, and watch for the color change. They're shaped like fun sea critters, so kids enjoy wearing them. 18 sensors per pack.

It is a good idea, but...

Pros:
Easy To Take, Not Messy
Cons:
Takes awhile to be usefu
Best Uses:
Toddlers

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It is a good idea, but it starts to react to the sun a while later. In fact it takes too long to see how much sun we are getting.

I love this product because it reminds you to reapply sunscreen on your child. Sometimes when you're having fun swimming, you forget about it, or you don't think it's been that long. Seeing that little fish on my daughter constantly reminds me that I need to be aware of how long we have been swimming and that the sunscreen needs to be put on again.

Didn't live up to expectations.

Pros:
Kids liked designs
Cons:
Glue Didn't Come off

Most usage was at the pool which apparently wasn't the right place to use the stickers. The glue backing didn't come off with the sticker. Colors changed so might have been useful in another setting.

I misunderstood the product. I thought it would tell you when your child need MORE sunscreen. It just measures the UVB, UVA rays. I ordered these for both of my kids over 4th of July. I put on sunscreen and then waited for it to absorb and put them stickers on the back of there neck. I thought that would be the safest spot that they wouldn't touch. Within a few minutes outside they turned bright orange, well I just had put suncreen on both my kids so I know they didn't need more sunscreen then. Within the hour they had both fallen off due to normal sweating - ding ding time to put on more sunscrean or go inside. So if you put suncreen on every couple of hours like recommended you don't need these stickers. If they help you remember to put on suncreen well then they are just expensive stickers.

Sun Signals UV Sensors
By RondaVerified Reviewer from Pleasanton on 7/8/2008
Pros:
Acts Quickly, Easy To Take
Cons:
Ineffective, Not Waterproof
Best Uses:
Daily Use, Infants, Newborns, Preemies, Short-Term Use, Toddlers
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love the concept of these sensors, but I am not sure how effective they are. The sticker peels off too quickly in the heat and they are not waterproof. It would be a lot better if they made some that were waterproof. I will use them when we are out walking or just playing in the sun. Not a great idea for the water.

Pros:
Cute
Cons:
Ineffective
Best Uses:
Any outside play, Stick to back of kid, Toddlers
Describe Yourself:
Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

They are cute little stickers, and I followed the instructions carefully but I found that sunblock changed the color faster than the sun would. They also will not stick to a child that has been thoroughly sunblocked or running through sprinklers or in water.

My daughter is very fair skinned and it is not always easy to tell when she has had too much sun (she looks ok until you get her inside). This product is unbelievable and helps in the process. I am just amazed that they can come up with something like this...It's fantastic!

I've tried sticking these to my kids, myself, and to our hats. In the end, I put one on top of our cooler and it stayed there longer than anywhere else. Yes, we put it on clear, clean skin. I think it's just best to use your cell phone alarm to remind you it's time to get the kids out of the sun.

great for my baby
By baby's mommyVerified Purchaser from michigan on 4/30/2007
Pros:
Durable, Good Value, High Quality
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I noticed this product has a bad review. It because it was used wrong. You are supposed to apply it on clear skin, and it will stick really good. Put lotion around the sensor. I loved it for my 6 months baby. He was outside in the little tent in the shade, but you never know how much sun still gets to him.
I just put one on every time we went for a walk with the stroler.

Love these hard to find items!
By SamVerified Purchaser from Seattle, WA on 4/29/2007
Pros:
Great safety net
Best Uses:
Sun Protection
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this product 2 summers ago and loved them, ran out of them the next summer and searched EVERYWHERE for them and struggled without them. Now buying Extra. Don't want to run out again. Put the sticker on your child or toddler and when it's time to reapply sunscreen, you have an extra reminder! I've Never had one fall off, but I do put them on upper arms or upper backs so kids won't have fun peeling them off. My kids never got too much sun when I was using them and that's gratifying to me since their future skin health depends on it!

Kept falling off
By Sad in SDVerified Purchaser from San Diego, CA on 4/19/2007
Cons:
Low Quality
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this for my child and it kept falling off. I couldn't tell how long it was exposed to the sun or how it was timed with the sun screen I applied. I would not recomend this product to other Moms.
