Without these, the gate wouldn't have worked. We have a "funny" design/construction at the bottom of our staircase. In addition to the funny design, our spindles are cubed-rods. Anyway, the "Y-spindle," was even able to work with that rod. Without them, our gate wouldn't have been able to be installed.

Seem to be working fine so far...I think my husband was a little nervous that the spindles might put a little too much pressure on our stair columns & they might break with little force. The gate has been up for a couple days...no issues thus far.

Attached to the rails well and we were able to have a metal baby gate at the bottom of our stairs. It was compatible with the Summer Infant Tall Metal Gate that we have.

We have an open staircase which made it impossible to put up a normal gate for our 1 year old...and she was constantly trying to climb the stairs.
The Y-spindle attachment worked with our existing gate (DreamBaby brand) and now she can't climb!

The Y spindle is genius. It is a perfect solution for a staircase that has a banister on one side and a wall on the other. The attachment fit perfectly in my metal gate. No other gate or attachment I tried fit my banister. I am extremely happy with the Y spindle.

The idea of the Y spindles is a great one; however, the opening of our gate was too small for the spindles to fit in. Therefore, we had to return them. (Our gate is made by Regalo)

Y spindles saved my sanity! No more taking the gate off and putting it back on. This was the only gate with the Y spindle option that worked on our stairway. Good stuff!!!

This product was a real problem solver! We have a stairwell with wrought iron ballisters on one side and uneven molding on the other. We could not find a gate that would fit and thought we were going to have to have a gate built by a carpenter. After about two months of having to watch our son like a hawk we found this product. We now have the gates up and don't have to watch him every second. Even better is that it worked with the black gate that matches our wrought iron and looks good. I will definitely tell others about this product.

We didn't realize when we ordered the gates that we would need these spindles to complete installation. Once we had them, the gate works perfectly on our stairs. The spindles are easy to use and securely fasten the gate to the staircase banister. We could adjust and move the spindles to ensure it is safely secured and we are able to open and close the gate easily. Luckily, our daughter hasn't figured out how to work it quite yet...

I bought these to secure the top of a long stairwell. Previously it was difficult to get a gate to seat securely, due to shaped posts and an intruding handrail at the top of the stairs. I prefer a walk through gate, as I am a 58 yr old Grama, not an agile 20 something Mom, and did not fancy falling down an 11 step flight of stairs.

We have the black gate and these are silver and white. They work just fine but they don't blend well with the rest of the gate.
