This umbrella shade is porbably the smartest DESIGN of any umbrella shade on the market. The tripod eliminates the need for a seperate-more cost-and heavy-umbrella base. It with comes with tie-down stakes, but I hold it down with a sandbag.
it has a lokckig tilt function. However, the components and build lean toward the flimsy side, meaning it's not too durable. Its not unusual for something like this in this price range.
If you don't treat this too carelessly this can be a very satisfying purchase. It's still a good deal for the money.

As soon as it came, I also set up my kids little pool, it was a very HOT sunny day... so I was excited to set it up! It was SO easy, and my neighbors right away asked where I got it. Love the cup holders, and the hooks for towels. It was perfect! Didn't blow away, was able to tilt it for maximum shade! AWESOME!!!

I am very pleased with this product. It is a good size, it shades well, it's easy to put up, and I love that it has a stand that can be used anywhere! This is exactly what I was looking for. I wish it came in different colors, but otherwise it's great!

I also want to say that the customer service with One Step Ahead it fantastic! My umbrella got lost by UPS, and One Step Ahead was very quick to file a claim and send me a replacement, and with their follow-up UPS found my original umbrella & it arrived 2 days after filing my claim. I was able to return the 2nd umbrella easily when it arrived. This company definitely shows what customer service is all about! I will definitely continue to order products from here!

My mom bought two of these and we took them to an Air Show. They provided great shade, set up easily, and did great in the wind! The breeze was probably 5-7mph not to mention the wind from helicopters constantly landing behind us and with the umbrellas staked in the ground we had no trouble at all, they didn't budge or even threaten to turn wrong side out.

I have now bought two of my own and will be taking them to the ball field this summer to take in some Little League Baseball.

This is the best umbrella I've ever taken to the beach! I've had numerous umbrellas that either would tear up when it got too windy at the beach or I couldn't get them driven deep enough in the sand if I was trying to set it up without my husband. I didn't have either of these problems with this umbrella. It was super simple to set up and the stakes held it in the sand even with the wind. I plan on using this outside this summer with my 15 month twin boys. The stakes should be easy enough to put in the ground (which I'll have to have so they don't turn it over). I'm not sure if it could even be used without stakes because it's so lightweight I'm thinking with very much of a breeze it would blow over. But with stakes at the beach...the best idea ever!!!

Would give zero stars! Orignal umbrella was ripped. Replacement was worse, ripped and rusty nail poking out!

I really thought this was great. I was worried because it was not very expensive but it was one of the best beach umbrellas I ever bought. It was easy to put up and fit easily back in the bag when I was done. It not not only has cup holders but also hooks to hang up wet towels or handbags you don't want in the sand. It is not 100% windproof but it handled the wind as well as any other beach umbrella. Also would be great on a patio or backyard that gets a lot sun. It also was easily adjustable.

This is such a great portable umbrella! It is super lightweight and easy to assemble / adjust, so I am able to do it myself without having to ask my husband for help! : ) It is ideally used on calm days without much wind, otherwise it tends to blow over...so be sure to use the stakes that it comes with to keep it upright on a windy day.

I love this product but was disappointed that the first time the wind caught it the umbrella drug on the ground and tore at the seams in two spots. This was the first time we used the product. Other than that, it worked wonders to keep the sun off my new baby at the pool, beach and in the yard.

I bought this to use in my backyard. I have a six-month old I want to keep out of the sun while allowing my older 3-year old to play in the kiddie pool and this works great. It is very easy to set up, lightweight and sturdy. I love it! We will use this for many years, I am sure. It's very portable too so we'll be taking it with us wherever we go this summer.
