Don't buy this! Very disappointed in the product and more disappointed in this company for charging me shipping to return items that were of such poor quality!! Won't buy anything from this site again because of this. They dont allow for no stars, it doesn't deserve one!

I like the portablility of this toy, it is easy to throw into the diaper bag when I am going to a friend's house that doesn't have any children. I also use it as a "calming down" toy before bedtime.

I am only slightly disappointed with the Water Painting Doodle Mat. The description could have been more specific. I bought this product for my 5 year old son for Christmas, but I don't think it can hold the attention on a child much older than 3 or 4. He got quickly bored with it. The drawing mat is a white rectangle with four colored sections underneath the white base. Therefore the colored section you are "painting" over is the only color that comes up when drawing. I guess we were under the impression you could create different colors all over the mat, more like Crayola Magic Creations art.

What I do like about this product is that the pen only contains water in order to draw. When I spotted my 18 month old son drawing with it on my couch, I didn't have to worry. So far the pen has held the water in without any leaking. I also like around the edge of the mat are 3 step instructions on how to make simple drawings, a car, a boat, a duck. My son loves to try and copy those.

I am not sure if I would recommend this product to a friend. It would depend on what type of product they were looking for. I think this would be a great product for traveling with a small child who enjoys to draw or color. No mess, its reusable, and a fairly decent size. Not too small, not too bulky either. Otherwise, for just in home use, crayons and paper are really a better fit for creative young artists.
