My disappointment is I now have a broken gate, cannot find the replacement for the gate. The only reason I need to replace it is the lower plastic hinge broke which means the gate will not work properly. It would seem prudent to have replacement parts available. I've had to buy a whole new gate, and I like it much less than the one I have.

We set up the gate between the kitchen and the dining room. When my granddaughter is spending time with us we keep the dog in the kitchen on the other side of the gate. My granddaughter is able to see the dog and she really likes that, but we don't have to worry about her putting her hands through the gate offering food to the dog. That was a big worry with the previous gate. So far, this gate is working perfectly and it looks nice, too.

I operate a multi-level shelter for women and children and we tried many different gates and this one is the best. Believe me it has been put through the most rugged tests and the most determined children have tried to climb it, destroy it and master it and the gate has won every time!

Gate is used at top of stairs to prevent falling down the steps or going out the door.I have had this gate for 6 years and it is opened and closed many times everyday. It is added security when children of different ages are in the same area. Not easily opened or pushed over when mounted

I looked for baby gates for three months. I even purchased three of them before stumbling on this gate. I have done my homework on this subject and let me tell all you parents out there...it is perfect. When she stands supported by the gate, I am comforted with the fact that I know that gate is not going anywhere.

Plus she can see through the gate. It's just funny to watch too when she presses her face against it, licking it and talking. It's entertaining.

I also have two cats and the gate is high enough off the floor for the cats to crawl under it but not so that she can fit.

I cannot be more pleased! Stop searching for a gate this is the ONE!

Oh, and it is so easy to just pop off and put into a closet if you don't want it up.

This was advertised as being able to be mounted or spring loaded. I will only have spring loaded gates as I don't want to put holes in my door frames. When I installed it I realized you cannot open it in the spring loaded mode. I need a gate that opens as I go into the kitchen frequently and it was a pain to have to take the whole gate off and put it back on every time.

Love this! We decided to order a second since it works so well. Love that I can still easily see my toddler even with it closed. Also, very easy to install, only took my husband about 15 mins from start to finish.

Used to contain a 3 legged cat downstairs(back leg amputated). Works effectively with re-inforcement placed on side railing of the stair bannister. A bit difficult to install on stairs, and was installed unevenly, as we have molding on the drywall side and the stud did not align perfectly across. Gate itself is sturdy, with little space on sides or bottom for cat to manuever through. Not sure if a normal cat who jumps couldn't get over the top, but my cat can't jump it or climb on any parts to get over the gate. Lock clicks in place and must align both bars before locking because of the uneveness.

This gate is so easy to use that my 6yr old can open and close with ease. The clear gate is perfect for my daughter to be able to see me but I know that she is safe where I left her. This gate is great at keeping my dog out of the area where the gate is at. I recommend this gate to anyone that has room for a swinging gate and has a child that likes to be able to see where you have gone.

We've had these gates for 5 months now, and wanted to leave a review to say how much we love them. We bought two of these gates to make a safe area for our just-crawling baby. They are exactly what we wanted, and we get positive comments about their utility and looks from all of our guests.

These are only swing gates when mounted with the included hardware; when pressure mounted, they create a stationary barrier. I prefer the permanence of the hardware mount, so I only shopped for gates with this option (I've seen pressure mount gates "walk" and get loose over time). Installing any gate with mounting brackets is more involved, and you'll want to be familiar with a drill and a studfinder at a minimum to install these. These come with plastic stacking shims in case the lower bracket overlaps your baseboard, but they are flat and don't help if the baseboard is curved or if the bracket only half-overlaps the baseboard. I chose to chisel one side of a piece of wood to match our baseboard instead. Once installed, the gate can be removed from the hinges with a button-press, so you can bring the gate to use as a pressure-fit barrier if you're traveling to a non-kidsafe home.

Once installed, you'll need to get familiar with the handle operation. All the negative reviews I saw focused on handle failures, and I suspect they may be due to improper/frustrated use. We need to coach every adult to slide one of the two handle buttons before lifting/rotating the handle to open the gate. It doesn't seem to be intuitive, but that also means kids won't be opening these gates. With a bit of familiarity, the handles are easy to operate, even when stumbling past to get formula at 4am. We open each gate at least 20 times a day, and they still operate like new.

Our daughter is very interactive and gets into everything. Fortunately, she's learned there's not much to be gained by messing with these gates. She can grab the side edge of the gate to help stand, but there's not much for her to climb, and she can't reach through. Plus, when she licks the plastic, she makes an amusing "blowfish" face which is fun to watch from the other side. We don't notice the smudges on the plastic, but it wipes up easily.

If you're thinking about buying this gate, but are worried about reviews of the durability, I suggest you buy the gate, get comfortable with the handle operation, and then smile when the in-laws talk about how much they like your baby gates.

I have a guitar workshop with two doors. I also now have two beagle puppies. also friends bring over toddlers. This gate protects valuable investments. It is highly functional for me. I had removed the doors some time ago as the room also serves as a display case. It serves as visual notice to adults as well to stay out or at least be careful. Being well designed it looks good and preforms very well. [...] easy to install.The only con it was not clearly said anywhere to make it swing like a gate the hing swing must be screwed to the door frame. To set up for quick removal you can not use it as a gate, the whole thing needs to be taken out and stowed.

We installed this gate at the top of a full flight of stairs with a banister. We had to attach two boards to the banister before mounting the gate. After that, installation was straightforward and the gate looks and seems to work great! It also seems to be very sturdy and I like that it's see through. My only concern is that my 2.5 year old will learn to open it. Time will tell.

We have quite a few doorways in our home and were looking for a way to keep the baby out of the kitchen as he was learning to walk. Yet we still wanted to be able to see him and him to see us. We love the ease of them and he loves to push his face up against the plastic like a window(so cute). He has even learned to "close it and open it" to go to his room for a diaper change or to the dinning room to eat. We pop the latch and he does the rest,then he claps for himself! They also help to keep the pets out if we need them to be.

We really like this gate because it swings open both ways, rather than just one way. It doesn't seem like it is all that sturdy, but we haven't had a problem yet, so I'm hoping I just feel that way because I'm comparing it to our old gate which was metal. So far so good!
