The Crib Yard Play Yard

Item #: 12302

Forget bells and whistles — when it comes to play yards, safety comes first! This is the sturdiest play yard we've ever seen: it's so safe, baby can actually sleep in it! Wonderfully crafted, with a patented locking frame that simply can't collapse. The heat-tempered fiberboard base is 20% thicker than others. How strong is it? While others max out at 30 lbs., it supports a whopping 45 lbs.! Bigger and roomier than others; measures 41½"L x 30½"W x 30½"H. Folds up easily; carry case included. A great choice for big toddlers, twins, and safety-conscious parents. For children less than 35" tall. Imported.

This is a safe place to put our nine-month old grandson when he's visiting and we have to leave the room. It also helps protect him from 4 large friendly dogs in the house!

This is the second purchase of this item, made because my daughter was so pleased with hers that we ordered another one for our soon to be great-grandchild. This is great for putting outside for some fresh air, or folding up and taking to Grandma's house for a safe place to sleep. When it arrived, the cover was torn but this wonderful company replaced it immediately. You will be very pleased with this item.

Great to place twins in for brief period of time since it holds more weight than regular play yards. Sturdy, easy to see kids in it through the mesh. Need to buy sheet through manufacturer but I used a regular crib sheet and tucked it in so it fits fine.
Definite must to have in bedroom when twins outgrow bassinets. They actually like being in there!

Being a first time Gran I am so impressed with the sturdy construction on The Play Yard. Abigail, 9 months old, has slept three or four times and looks cosy as she rests in her new Play Yard. It is so easy to transport from room to room or in the good weather outside in our yard. The mattress is nicely padded for her knees and body. [...] Am recommending your compay to others.Thanks,Nita-Mae DoddsAbigail's Gran

Comments about L.A. Baby The Crib Yard Play Yard Blue:

My son was born in July of 2006. We didn't need a full sized portable crib at the time however we did come the summer of 2007 so we could take him camping with us. My son was over 9 pounds when he was born so by the time we needed this product I wanted to get one that would last us a couple of years. My son slept in this crib the summers of 2007, 2008, and 2009! It has held up great through countless put-up and take-downs (we have a camper so it would come down every morning, back up at nap, down again and then back up at bedtime in order to save space and on average we camp 20 nights per summer)and he sleeps great in it! I actually think the padding on the bottom is thicker then the average PNP but I did add an extra blanket under the fitted sheet to add a bit more (please do not try if your child isn't over a year due to SIDS risk). Other then that we have been totally happy with this product, it's price is great, and we can't wait to use it again with baby number 2 on the way!

My two year old still sleeps in her crib at home. When we travel, she's too big for the standard sized pack n play but not ready for a bed. This was an ideal solution because it's slightly bigger than most and the sides are higher so she can't climb out. I haven't used long enough to comment on the quality but the price can't be beat compared to other travel cribs that are upwards of $200. A great value and good solution for larger babies.

Very convenient when on a trip: easy and fast to set up, and to pack. We used it only as a crib - not as a play pen - but it can serve for both.
The padding could perhaps be a little thicker, but then it would be bulkier when folded...
All in all, everything that was expected.

While I like the play yard (particularly that it goes up to 45 lbs.), I was disappointed because it had to be returned twice due to the fabric coming apart at the seams. This is an item that received light use, not everyday, and still did not last well, particularly given that it is supposed to be commercial grade for daycares, hotels, etc. Other than that, I have been happy with it. It seems safe and sturdy, but once the fabric started going, it went quickly and became potentially dangerous since a child's arm, leg, etc. could slip out.
