We live in Southern California and wanted a light-weight, durable, easy-to-store pool for our backyard. The inflatable pools inevitably deflate after just a few uses; the hard plastic ones are cumbersome and difficult to transport. The Sun Smarties pop-up pool seemed free of these issues, and it even came with a sun shade and cover. The sides were frustratingly flimsy, so a lot of water flowed out when kids got in, or out, or leaned on the side in a certain way, but that was an inconvenience that I could live with. I could not, however, live with the unrelenting, slimy, pink mold that developed within a week or two of having the pool. I emptied the pool every evening and kept it in the hot LA sun during the day (especially when it was empty) to try to kill the mold, but had no luck. We stopped using the pool after only a few weeks, and eventually I returned it.

This pool was a gift for my daughter and two grandchildren. I saw the pool at my grand nephew's home, and knew it would be perfect for the hot sunny days in Los Angeles. The pool arrived; my daughter set it up easily; all have been enjoying it everyday.

We got this for our baby's first birthday party. We use it as a ball pit. Not only was it the hit of the party but our little one year old plays in it every single day. She never gets tired of it!

Friends of our had this at the beach, and after seeing how much our son enjoyed it, my parents got it for him for his birthday.
My son isn't a fan of the ocean, so we set this up on the beach and he will sit in it and play for hours until his fingers are pruney!
At least 4 people asked where we got this last time we used it at the beach.
It's a snap to set up. Bring a big bucket with you though, it'll make it easier to fill. It's not the easiest to fold up, but it doesn't have to be folded exactly to be able to shove it back in the bag.

I bought this for my grandchildren, mainly the 3 yr and 18 mo old, but the 6 year old has fun in it too! Our 18 month old wears a life preserver because of the depth of the water. It is very easy to fill and empty. It needs to be emptied each day and sprayed out to keep the bottom from getting slimy. It's very easy to fold up and put away after it dries.

Product was not the quality expected. Also, the shipping container was not secure and had only one flimsy piece of tape on the box. Hence, the box was partially open when it arrived. Other items ordered were shipped in an inferior manner also. Poor quality control in the shipping area.

I love so many One Step Ahead products, but not this one. My tall two year old son collapses the sides every time he tries to step in and out of the pool. I assist him, of course, but this weakness is very annoying and makes him insecure about playing in it. I wish I had gotten a sturdier, inflatable pool that my son could climb in and out of with confidence- this was not worth the money.

I was really excited to get a more durable pool for my toddler. After going through several of the cheap plastic pools we decided to get this one as more of an investment. It's easy to set up and looks great until we started filling it with water. Unless you are on a completely level surface, the pool will not hold it's shape. We've had to prop a bucket against one side to try to keep the water in the pool and and round shape. I think it's going to work better as a ball pit, but I wouldn't buy it again.

This is a great pool. Love the size and ease of set up. An adult can even sit in here with a small child with plenty of room which is great because our son loves for us to get in with him. It is a little hard to learn how to fold it back up. Wish the cover was a bit more stable as it pops off easily. I hope it lasts a long time.

I purchased this for my daughter's 1st birthday party. She and her playmates loved this pool (I filled it with over 1000 balls). Since they couldn't walk, it kept them contained, in an upright position and entertained. The movable sunshade allowed us to keep them cool and covered...very useful. We are definitely taking it with us on vacation!

Love the canopy and that you can reposition it! The pool is a nice size and depth. Plenty of room for me and my active toddler son. Easy to get in and out of. Dries fast. Easy to set up but very difficult to fold back for storage. It takes many attempts. Once it is folded back, it stores nicely. Really the best pool for toddlers and helps prevent sunburns.

The pool is awesome. Very easy to open and fill up. The sun shade pops up easy and gives good shade. Kids love the pool......BUT.....

It is ridiculously impossible to fold up for storage. Even the online video, which looks easy, does not help. I have had three different people try to fold up the pool and nobody can do it (without folding/breaking one of the vertical supports)

So this is a tough one. I love the pool but the difficulty in storage makes it not worth it. Sorry.

So far so good! This is just what I was looking for. I wanted something that I could take with me to the beach etc. for the baby. Love the sun shade and cover. The only negative I have it that I wish the bag had a zipper or some kind of velcro to keep it closed.
