Bought this Hibiscus shirt for my 15 month old daughter. She's more of an 18 month size already, but the shirt really just fits & it's a 24 month size. Bought large thinking I'd get two summers wear out of it. Was disappointed to see that it seems to be fading a bit already and we're barely into the summer. In 2009 I bought a 12 month size sun smarties t-shirt for my then, 8 month old son. It seemed to be sized pretty well, but like my current one, short at the waist and wide through the chest. Would be nice if One Step Ahead would slim down the width a little, but add some length to the bottom. This becomes more noticeable once the shirt is washed. I have always washed in cold water & then line dried to get the most wear out of these. The shirt from 2009 is slightly faded, but got a couple of summers wear out of it first.
Still, I recommend them as a comfy alternative to the rashgard shirts and because they really do have an SPF of 50.

Appears comfortable on my 1 year old. Shirt is large in width and short in length. For my child with a belly, this is definitely noticeable. Feel secure putting a shirt on her thought that will help protect from sun exposure.

Great for daycare less worries becuase of the UFP factor. Unlike Rashgards kids will not have heat stroke. Wish they would make these for older kids to.

These seem like such comfy little shirts. My daughter and I both like them. She seems cool, even though they are quite thick. It became obvious to me how well they block the sun when I took my children out one day. My baby's arms had a clearly discernable line where she had the shirt on, as opposed to sunscreen. I am impressed, though I must say I certainly prefer to buy them on sale.

I was suprised at how soft the shirt is. Very cute and goes with everything! Can't wait to bring it down to Florida in a few weeks.

we went to longwood garden for a weekend. girls were out all day, it was very sunny, they did not get sunburn or even a little red, even when playing in the pools

Cute shirt, can't wait for my daughter to wear it all next summer. I have purchased several items over the years from the UPF beach wear collection and have loved them all. I will be very sad next year when my daughter has outgrown this awesome catalog!

Great kids SPF/UV shirt - no need to slop on a lot of SPF when your child has this on! We live in FL and are in the sun a lot. My daughter has fair skin and I have been using these shirts for her since she was 13 months old. No problems. I always put her in one when we go to an outside event. Very durable and has kept color well.

This was a great sun shirt on the beach during vacation. It dried quickly and washed beautifully. I would fully recommend this.

My daughter is very fair and sun-sensitive and has to be very careful in the sun. These shirts are cool and comfortable for her to wear. The patterns are adorable and they don't look any different than "regular" clothes. I would definitely recommend these shirts to anyone and I will also by some for my son.

I am not sure why these T-shirts are advertised as SPF50 T's, but they are very soft and comfortable to wear. I wish they could make them in bigger sizes for me too.

The seam on the underarm of this t-shirt opened after the first washing, before it was even worn.

Love it but upset I could not get the matching head band.

gauze backing on the inside of the shirt (embroidery on the outside) started to come off in the corners, even before wearing or washing the shirt. it was easy to iron it back on, but i shouldn't have had to do this.

I can't say enough great things about the SunSmarties line of clothing. I love this stuff!! The extra SPF protection is just a plus. KEEP IT COMING!
