Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

This is what I never knew I always needed. Keeps food off of restaurant tables, doesn't slip (like napkins when you put them down) and is easy to clean. I do wish the suction cups had a stronger stick (there are always a couple that come undone) but there are enough of them that the mat stays put. I always wish it was easier to carry around; it rolls up but unrolls in my bag. No matter though, even with the "cons" this is still an essential for my diaper bag.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

This placemat has been a diaper bag staple since my now three-year-old started eating solids. With this, a bib and a sippy cup, he could eat anywhere we did. We just unrolled the placemat, suctioned it to the table and gave him small pieces of our food. It kept him from getting germs from the table or breaking restaurant plates and kept the mess to a minimum. However, now that I'm trying to use it for my second child, it seems it has been rolled up too long and will not fully flatten or suction properly. Running it under hot water to make it pliable and then weighing it down flat seemed to help, but I may have to buy a new one since it worked so much better new.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

Suction did not work on our wooden table. Like any piece of baby item with have for baby's chewing pleasure. For that price, better off buying a normal placemat and stick Velcro underneath or use tape to secure to table.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

This placemat is so very helpful! It is compact and easy to use and keeps bite size baby food off maybe not so clean surfaces. I love that it suctions to the table and it is secure enough to the table my 10 month old can not pull it up and then when she is all done eatting I can just roll it up and it holds all messiness neatly inside until I get it home and just simply wash it off...I would highly recommend this product, it is a must have that I consider right up there with the high chair/cart cover for eatting out with baby!

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

We had one of these with both our boys and had to have one with our third. It is GREAT for eating out. My daughter is not ready to have her food on a plate yet (it would just end up on the floor) so this is nice to cut up her food and put it in front of her on the table with out having to worry about what was on the table before we were there. The food catcher is nice too as an extra barrier between the table and the floor.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

I love this thing and will definitely be buying more. If you've ever seen the filthy condition of restaurant tables you will not want your child eating off one! My daughter would not leave regular, non-suction placemats on the table and made a huge mess slinging her food around with them. This one sticks to all tables we've used, catches lots of crumbs and dribble, and rolls right back up. Which is great considering I received it second hand! She does try to unstick the suction cups, but having something sanitary to feed my child on is worth any hassle. I haven't had any problems storing or cleaning it; I simply wipe it off with a baby or food safe cleaning wipe. We aren't filling a garbage bin with disposable placemats either.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

I bought this to use at home, as my five year old can still be a bit messy with milk drips and syrup drips, among other food messes. The catch tray has proved to be immensely helpful in keeping food and drips off his clothes and the chair. We also have a glass top on our wooden table to help protect it, and milk used to get under the glass, and it is a pain moving the glass to clean dried milk and other food that works its way between the glass and the table. This placement has helped prevent this from happening, which is the main reason why I purchased it.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

I thought this product would be great for dining out on our vacation. It rolls nicely for storage and fits in the diaper bag. However, because it is stored rolled up, it is hard to get flat to suction to the tables. The mat did not suction to wood tables at restaurants and my toddler kept throwing the mat on the floor.

My mother in law bought this for us. We've used it a few times but I really think it's more of a pain to use than to actually clean the table before and/or after. It's supposed to roll up into itself for easy storage but it doesn't stay rolled up. If there were a tie or a bag then that might be better. The material is the worst part. I cannot keep it clean. Every little crumb in the diaper bag or every loose hair clings to it and it's nasty. And I also have to agree that some of the suction cups aren't the best.

Comments about Summer Infant Tiny Diner Portable Placemat Green:

We've been using ours for a couple of weeks and they've both been stained with black marks. I'm assuming this is because of reading the newspaper at the table and the pages laying on top of the placemat. Additionally, the crumb catcher on both placemats have lost their shape so that they open out to spill the crumbs right in the middle where most of the crumbs fall. They stick well to the table we have and the dishes the kids use don't slide around on it, so that may be useful for parents buying this for infants or toddlers who push their dishes around and spill things. I'm disappointed with this product.

I love this product! I always get comments when we use it in restaurants. They say, "what a smart product!" Now it's my favorite gift to take to baby showers for new moms. Who wants to wipe down a gross table and STILL worry that it's not clean enough to eat off of? A MUST in the diaper bag. It stains easily from red sauce like spaghetti sauce, but it doesn't interfere with the use of it. That's the only 'con.'
