We are very please with this gate. We have been so frustrated with a variety of plastic gates, both spring/pressure mounted, sliding, and expanding. None of them were very attractive and were awkward to open and keep securely closed. Our one dog always found a way to squeeze through or push over. Not this gate! It fits snuggly in the door jam and he can't budge it, jump over, or crawl under. I love how it closes on its own with just a gentle click. Our cat even feels secure jumping over it because it doesn't wobble like all the plastic ones did.

This baby gate was awful! Very hard to open at times and didn't want to stay in place!

Beautiful gate. Looks nice and is easy to install. The gate CAN push over if you have a toddler that is strong enough but my daughter doesn't mess with it.

I love this gate... to look at. It looks so nice for being a safety gate but in reality - it stinks.. my 2 yr old grandson can put his body weight on the gate and it pushes open!! the opening is just too small and has like a 3 inch rail at the bottom that EVERYONE trips over! we live in a split entry and had to put this up to keep my grandson from falling down the stairs.. If someone rings the doorbell he runs to the gate and with not much effort or weight he can just push it open.. oh and impossible to open if you have something in your hands.. you absolutely HAVE to have 2 hands to open the door!! UGH..

dON'T HAVE ANY KIDS - NEVER HAVE BUT i DO HAVE 6 DOGS AND 6 CATS AND DO RESCUE WORK WITH ANIMALS. I USE THE GATE TO KEEP THE DOGS OUT OF THE KITCHEN AND THE CAT FOOD. aLSO WHEN i'M FOSTERING KITTENS I LET THEM PLAY IN THE KITCHEN AND WEAVE CARDBOARD THROUGH THE BARS SO THEY CAN'T ESCAPE. LOVE THE FACT THAT IT SWINGS BOTH WAYS AND SELF LOCKS ALTHOUGH UNLESS IT STAYS PERFECTLY PLUMB IT DOESN'T ALWAYS LOCK. IT HAS MADE MY LIFE A LOT EASIER.

We have 3 of these gates - they look great and work well. They do swing closed but sometimes don't latch unless you pull it closed. It keeps our little one out. I know these gates are sturdy because our toddler pulls on them and they have never come loose.

This gate does its job. I bought one for the bottom of our stairs and purchased another for the top. I think there are probably better-made gates but this is one of the nicest looking ones out there. I was pleasantly surprised because we were able to easily install it on our stairs which has a metal rod on one side and a wall, without puncturing any holes. The negatives are that you do have to tighten the screws every so often because they come loose, and one of the small pieces fell off on the top of the gate in the first week (but it did not affect its functionality). Overall, I was very happy with this product.

We have two of these gates. They are our SECOND FAVORITE Gate. They look WONDERFUL. It is sturdy and I have to admit that it rarely works itself loose. We go through this gate HUNDREDS of times a day. This is not a handsfree gate. it does not latch on it's own, although it will swig shut on it's own. Sometimes this can be very annoying. If you want a gate to swing shut and latch, that's great, but if it doesn't latch automatically, there is no benefit to having it swing shut. It's difficult to carry anything through this gate(laundry, baby, toys, etc) because it is always trying to swing shut. I have to maneuver and hold it open with one leg while going through. I have a 22 month old and a 3 month old, and this gate is NOT my favorite. I much prefer the step on gate that is sold from One Step Ahead. We had some initial issues with this gate not staying secure, but now it does. It only auto latched for the first few weeks and then that feature stopped working and you have to latch it yourself each time, which is incredibly frustrating for a gate that is supposed to auto latch.

This is a lovely gate and we have gotten many compliments. However, we needed to install at the top of stairs and this gate is the only one we found of the proper size. During installation the pressure end went right through our wall. After reinforcing with an extra piece of wood it is fine and I am sure this would be fine in a doorway because of the door jamb but beware if you are installing directly on a wall only!!
