I was looking for signing books that would engage my son. I can't even understand what i'm supposed to do on some of these signs. Some of them are helpful, but we cannot sit down and read them. Very strange and difficult to follow.

I really like this book and I really enjoy how many new signs we have learned. Other books only have a few signs, while this book has MANY! I really enjoy it.

I like the book, I actually copied all of the pages and placed pictures around the house so the entire family could get involved with talking (signing) to our baby. A lot of people complained that they couldn't understand the pictures, there is a discription along with the picture that explains the actions perfectly.

I love how the author includes different children from other cultures. It's not just a signing book, but also a good source to teach my daughter of different colours of children around the world.

My now 18 month old daughter starting picking up signs very quickly but my husband and I had only ever learned a couple very basic "words" since she hadn't seemed to be interested for so long. This was a wonderful help to us and it entertained my daughter too. The most shocking was when my mom actually picked up a few signs from the book while babysitting one day! My daugther loves the pictures, we love the simple and easy explanations. We've even let our daycare borrow the book because the teachers were so intersted in it when my daugther started teaching them signs! We're getting the others in the series because the first one was just so wonderful. It really is a must have for anyone who deals with small children!

As a mom and speech therapist, I think its great to use sign language with little ones. These fun picture books are a great way to introduce parents and babies to signing, without videos!

The books seem a little boring, the words and signs weren't exactly what I expected. I must also add that a lot of the signs are incorrect - I majored in ASL so I'm very familiar with it. If I didn't already know ASL I would find the descriptions on how to sign a word to be very confusing and the pictures are very unclear on how to sign the word as well.

The illustrations aren't done well enough to be sure about what the correct motion is. If you're already familiar with ASL, this is a helpful tool to jog your memory. If not, the illustrations/descriptions are a bit puzzling. I would not recommend this as a learning tool. The Baby Signing Time videos are wonderful and much better use of your $ if you're looking to introduce ASL. We have the videos and I purchased this as an additional tool. Even as a secondary tool, it's disappointing.[...]

This is a good educational book, but there are a lot of images on the same page. It's not always easy to distinguish the signs. It's definitely made more for a toddler.

This is a pretty good sign book. It covers basic words used during meal time. This is great for infants and toddlers whom can not express themselves yet. This book also covers some basic words of etiquette. It is not as over stimulating as the "My First Sign Book."
