Used this gate at the bottom of stairway with banisters on both sides. The Y spindles worked perfectly. Tried multiple other gates and this was the only one that actually worked. Easy to open and shut, our 8 year old can open and shut it for easier access to upstairs. Can't say enough good things about this gate and the Y spindles for banisters!!!

I had to purchase this the use with the center gateway. I found it pretty easy to install and the online video on the website was most helpful. My 10 month old is starting the pull up on things now and I find this item to be very sturdy as he tries to pull on it. I plan to purchase another one of these for our home.

This product was a real problem solver! We have an extra wide stairwell with wrought iron ballisters on one side and uneven molding on the other. We could not find a gate that would fit and thought we were going to have to have a gate built by a carpenter. After about two months of having to watch our son like a hawk we found this product. We now have the gates up and don't have to watch him every second. These extensions can be found in white in a lot of stores but I could not find black to match the black gate until I looked here. I will definitely tell others about this product. Note: the extensions come in sections so that you can add as many as necessary and on each side.

It matched the gate and was easy to install but overall I think the extension and the gate itself is kind of cheap looking and cheap material. It looks much better in the picture and it is certainly priced like a higher end product.

I have used the kidco center gateway at the bottom of my stairs because it has the Y pieces that you can attach to the rod iron stair rails (although I have to use a piece of fabric between to keep the iron from scratching). It works very nicely and I would highly recommend it. When we moved I had a wider stair bottom and ordered the extension. The extension was easy to install - a matter of sliding a few pieces together!

I needed the extension set to fit our very wide stairway. It came in a nice, lightweight box and was super easy to assemble and add-on to the gate. We got the gate not only because it matches our black iron railings and would fit on the metal spindles, but also because it's so convenient and easy to use. No more crawling over wooden gates on a stairway!

The extension made our gate fit the hallway opening perfectly. It was very easy to install.

Best of all, the gate is very sturdy now. My active 16 month old cannot open the gate on his own, and I don't have to worry about him knocking it over.

This gate is great, and the extension kit works as advertised, but so far I've ordered two different gates and two extension kits [...] I'm sending the gates back and driving the hour and a half to my nearest baby superstore to purchase what I need in person. Too bad, because I love this retailer and would much rather give them my business.

Our second child is a wild one and we needed something easy to install, easy to use and sturdy enough to survive the wildness. This gate has worked out perfectly for us! I recommend especially for openings larger than a normal doorway. The extensions are very easy to install.
