I bought 2 side rails for a visit by a 3 year old grandchild. This is a well designed, high quality product. It should be mentioned that the rail is only 7" above the mattress level if you have an extra deep mattress, but it will still keep a child from rolling out of bed. The first box I opened had no assembly instructions which resulted in a certain amount of aggravation, but by the time I opened the second box, which did contain directions, I didn't need them. If not for these two issues, I would have given 5 stars.

I bought this to use on my 2 year olds new twin bed. This product was easy for me to put together by myself in less than 10 minutes. I had no problems with the fabric ripping or stretching to fit over the pieces as others have seemed to have. The only real negative that I have noticed is that the piece that goes in between the mattress and box spring to keep the rail in place doesn't quite get short enough for a twin bed. The rail moves very slightly over a few days but not enough to where it's been a problem. When I notice it's slightly moved I just push it back into place. It's not a problem but the cord should really be made to adjust just a little bit more than it does. Overall I like this product and my daughter has never had a problem sleeping in her bed.

We lost the railing to our bunk bed so were unable to allow our grandchildren to use the upper bed. Tried several styles but none fit until we found this! Tried and tested by an active 4 year old, we couldn't be more pleased!

We bought this to use with a Hemnes Daybed from [@]. The mattress we are using was not heavy enough to hold down the rail, and the fastening strip included not able to be used due to the construction of the bed frame. High hopes for this product, big let down.

My daughter is quite the MOVER when she sleeps! She fell out of her bed once (knocked her head on the platform bed base)and got an awful bump/bruise on her face from the fall. After receiving this product and installing it... I feel COMPLETELY at PEACE! My daughter is safe in her bed and there will never be anymore of those scary falls in this household again. It's worth the money and your peace of mind at night knowing your child will be safe for the entire night. Super easy to put together and install (i did it without the hubby)!

Great way to make sure our son stays in bed and doesn't fall out of bed. He's a rough sleeper who moves around a lot. Stays in place even when he's pulling on railing to get into bed. Making the bed is a bit more challenging even when the rail is folded down, but it's worth the extra trouble.

The instructions started out by saying how easy they were to follow, but I had this completely put together and had to take it back apart because I put the fabric part on backwards (and yes, I was using the directions). Once I got it together, it was great! We have a platform bed, and so far it's stood up well to my son's everyday wear and tear! Only time will tell how long it will last and how well it will clean up, but so far it's been great!

We use this to prevent a handicap adult from slipping out between the half rails that came with the bed we are using. Had a rail close to this when our daughter was small and loved it. Safety is my first concern.

I own several products from One Step Ahead & have never had issues with them. This item, however, is awful. The parts are flimsy and hard to assemble. The instructions are useless...and the diagrams are so unrecognizable they look like a photocopy of a fax. The springs that are to lock/unlock the rail into place are bent and don't line up to their holes correctly, so we have to leave the rail up all the time. Even if I could slide the rail in between the mattress to "hide away," I couldn't bc the parts catch on the sheets and mattress. I'm more concerned with my son hurting himself by climbing in/out of bed with the rail in its upright position than I am with him falling out. Considering the price...I got what I paid for.

I ordered this bed rail because other reviews said it was great for convertable cribs. Its pretty easy to assemble and is sturdy, but its too long for my daughter's convertable crib. It goes from end to end leaving no room for her to get in or out on her own. She's basically back in a crib just with a lower side. Sending it back.
