This device has allowed my two year old freedom! Our pool requires all children (who haven't passed the swim test) to wear PFD (personal flotation device). We were previously using the age/weight appropriate life vest our pool has available. If our 2 year old lost their balance they immediate wound up on their back. This is an excellent safety feature however when she would attempt deeper waters (with us by her side) she would just "flip" onto her back. With the Puddle Jumper she can freely attempt to swim and not constantly flip onto her back. She is so much more adventurous and has truly taken to swimming. So far I haven't found the band around the arms to be constricting. Possibly when she learns proper arm movement to swim this could be an issue.
All in all, I am so happy with this product and have already recommended it to several others. The Puddle Jumper is now the "it" item to have at our pool for your little one!

My son says "Anpanman" when he sees it and loves wearing it! Anpanman is a Japanese animated character - literally, "Bread Man". The face on the floatie looks just like him. I highly recommend doubling this with the blue saucer floater that One Step Ahead also says. Perfect combo - mom and dad can swim too!

I already had a puddle jumper for my older daughter and bought this one for my 2-year old. Of all the life vests on the market I feel this one is best in reliability, stability and ease. With 2 small children it is hard to keep an eye on each and while I would never rely on any product to keep a child from drowning this product has given me much relief in the moments I have been diverted from my watch.

This life vest is amazing. I felt so comfortable allowing my son to swim independently from one end of the pool to the other (with me in the water with him of course). He also had free range of movement which was a huge plus!

My daughter is 28 months old and about 29 pounds. Puddle Jumpers fits perfectly! She hated the built in swim suit floatation vests and the full back/chest vests. She was terrified to get into the water this summer UNTIL we put on her puddle jumpers. The first time in, and she was swimming without holding me, kicking and splashing. Confident, comfortable, amazing. She tends to float backwards a little, but this is decreasing as she improves her ability to balance. The only drawback is that she thinks she's a PRO, so i have to be sure to watch her closely and keep puddle jumpers on anywhere near water! A must have product!

Our 19 mo old loves this. It took him a couple days in the water to figure out how to balance when he was floating so that he didn;t tip to one side or other and it definitely flips them onto their back for safety if they don't keep their own balance - but once he figured out how to balance and stay upright when he was floating in the water, he LOVED it! The arms do tend to drift down and can fall off when they are NOT in the water which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 - it would be nice if the arms were more adjustable for fat arms vs skinny arms so they don;'t fall off.

This item really gives my daughter a sense of security. It keeps her up without riding up around her neck which is fantastic. She is 3 1/2 and this is her first summer spending time in a pool. I can not get her out of it.

My 3 1/2 year old son loves the water but everytime I put swimmies on his arms his head would go down in the water, and he was constantly swallowing water and he hates when I try and hold him in the water. I found this and saw there was belt that went in front of their chest, well this solved the problem of him swallowing water. Now he has so much fun in the pool and i dont have to worry as much. Thank you one step ahead for a great product!!

Y'all should have seen our life guards face today when we took our 1 1/2 year old to the pool this morning! She last saw her 2 days ago before we used her puddle jumper for the first time. All we said was 'use the railing sweety' as we were getting our towels put down and shoes off. Our little one walked to the pool stairs held the railing and walked into the pool as the life guard jumped out of her chair only to realize she was swimming !!! :) she couldn't believe a not yet 2 year old could have such confidence and after only 2 days before seeing her have to be held in our arms. She LOVES her puddle jumper!!! She refuses to be helped and will now swim the full length of the shallow end of our pool and even jump in to our arms!! Thank you so much for this miraculous product! All we hear all day now since we got this is 'go swimmin?' lol :)

This product was great for reviews on all seller sites! I have not seen any difference in our experience either. This not only kept him more stable in the water, but gave him the confidence at 2.5 to let go of the stairs of the pool and float.

I have had several swim vests for my kids over the years. I frequent the beach and also have a pool so it's an absolute necessity. While I don't believe in floatation devices in the ocean - in the pool, it's a MUST for toddlers or anyone who can't stand in the pool with their head above water. Many vests on the market don't work. This one does. It works so well, in fact, that you will be hands free while your toddler learns to swim and build up confidence and competency on his own. An unbelievable find! I just wish it came with a longer, adjustable strap for larger kids.

I wanted something for my 3yr old that would help her feel more confident in the water and keep her safe. I like that it is US Coastguard approved and it fits her well now and will grow with her.

Perfect for my 4 year old. He calls it his "tiger" and loves to wear it. Makes him so secure in the water. Getting a second one for my almost 2 year old even though he is a little under the minimum 30 pounds.
