Not relevant to potty training in US

About Me Grandparent
Comments about Child Matters Once Upon A Potty Potty Training Book Boy:
The book does not address modern potty training. The child in the book uses a "pot" rather than an American style potty seat or toilet. It was not helpful or motivational to our child.
My daughter loves this book.

My daughter is two and loves this book. She wants to read it every night before bed. I was worried she would rip it but she has taken great care of it!

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
Although it says for boys, I think the only difference is it has a boy in the book. Lots of flowers and pastels, my 2 1/2 year old is not very interested in this book.

TERRIFIC BOOK
By Frankie
from Knoxville, TN
Very useful book to help with potty training. Used same book with my children 25 years ago. Very glad to see it is still around. Do like that authors have published the book for male and female. My granddaughter loves it and it is helping her with potty training.

Details other books miss!
By Pottytrng mom

I've checked out many potty books and videos. None give the detail this does - and opens the door to talk about things like that there's a "hole" down there where [...] comes out of. As a mom with a son who has not interest in getting potty trained I appreciate it.
"Second time around"

When my daughter was little, she wouldn't potty train until we read this book! Then she'd "sit and sit and sit and sit..." until success! Now that I'm the grandma, my granddaughter will be able to enjoy the book too! I even bought the book for her cousin.

A great read for our toddler!
By Tired but Loving it

Although our 2.5 year old was already starting to use his potty, this book arrived and we read it together. He loved it! He asked questions and will "read" along with us. Our son was at about a midway point of the boy in the book, but we think it gave him a great way to see that what he was doing other boys do (besides dad) and what was to come.
Love it!

My son LOVES this book (as did I when I was a kid)! It has been VERY helpful with introducing potty training.
It's Great so far....

I got this book, dvd and the girl doll. My 20 month old daughter just love to watch the dvd as she sits on the potty and also looks at the book and loves to sing the potty song. She is not trained yet but she totally understand what the book and the movie is for. She knows that we want her to use the potty but she also likes to do things on her own terms, when she is ready, so I hope it's a matter of time for her to do it on the potty. the movie is short and cute and fun and the book and thelittle doll helps with making her sit down on the potty it gives her a clue.
This is a GREAT book!

When it was 'time', we read this book together and laughed, made fun of the poop & pee in the pot. I believe this book made a HUGE impact on training. I now get it for every baby that comes into our lives!

way to many words for a little one
By working mommy

The book is a good explanation of using the toilet and hygiene, however, much too wordy for a young toddler's short attention span. Maybe better suited for when they are an older toddler that isn't potty trained yet or to reinforce toilet use and hygiene. I am finding that a puppet video of using the toilet catches her attention better than me trying to read this book.

About Me Medical Professional, Parent of Two or More Children
I really dislike this book. Of all the potty training books it is my least favorite. It is not fun to read and the pictures are outdated. I bought it for my first child and promptly donated it. There are much better books out there these days.
