Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

I have dreamt about this bag since the first time I saw it and had always admired the design and thought it was very clever, the way it opens all the way down. I am an organization junkie and kind of OCD when it comes to carrying things for the kids (I always need to have an extra of everything for the just in case). When I saw this bag on sale I just knew I had to have it. When it came I was kind of disappointed about the straps. As others had mentioned in previous reviews, when placed on your back, the straps are not staying once adjusted to size. They are made of a silky material and the shoulder pad slides around and twists on it and the adjustment won't stay put. I don't understand why they would not use the same material you see in other backpacks. I was thinking of returning it until I used it in one of our outings. THIS BAG IS AMAZING. It holds everything you need and it opens in the most convenient way. The bag does have a lot of great pockets and is well thought out in that respect. I still hate the silky straps and do not use it as a backpack as much but it stays in the back of the stroller. I would have liked bottle pockets in the sides and not in the inside and it is kind of bulky. BUT IT IS GREAT. My youngest one is already 20 months old but I know I will be able to use this bag for many trips (kids always need a ton of things and I need my backups for everything).

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

We purchased a expensive/cheaply built bag with our first child and it only lasted about 6 months, but by that time, trips to the doctor and taking him out and about had stopped. With our second child, we debated about getting another bag, and resorted to an old back pack, when we saw this on sale, we snatched it up and we are very happy with it. Addtionally, we can use it later as a back pack for the kids on family outings as they get older.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

I love the fact that the bag has enough pockets to store most everything you need and opens all the way so that you can find it without digging and making a mess of the bag. I do wish it would come in other colors.
A few design flaws, if you are a nursing mom and trying to keep up with fluid intake there is no where to store a water bottle unless you use one of the inside pockets but not very convenient also the straps don't stay put like others have said and after only a few months of being used the front strap holder has come unsewn and fallen off. Glad I didn't pay full price for it!! If it weren't for those flaws I would recommend it to others.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

I purchased this bag because I needed more space to organize everything that my son need in one bag. Usually when I go out I need 2 bags to put all the stuffs need to dig and look for stuffs that he need. This bag is more organize. May be I don't know how to pack stuff only need more pocket or space for a set of cloth for change. I don't like this bag is too heavier. As a parent, I love this bag.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

With a very active 5 year old and another child on the way, I knew I needed a diaper bag that would give me full use of both hands at all times while out and about. This bag is large enough to hold everything I need for the new baby along with a few snacks, drink, and backup clothes for the five year old. I also purchased the leather wallet to hold my credit cards, license, and cash so that I could clip it inside the diaper backpack, further minimizing the need for a purse. There are many pockets that are reachable from just the outside, which is great for quick access to cell phone. I am putting my wallet inside (clipped to a hook inside) for added peace of mind. Overall, this bag is exactly what I was looking for!

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

I love this I can fit so much in this bag, and I don't have to dig around looking for something. I couldn't believe how many pockets it has. I am very happy with bag and my husband is happy that he does not have to carry around a "girly" diaper bag. The only problem I have is that it is really hard to get it in the understorage of our stroller.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

I bought this bag before flying. It was easy to get things out of while on the plane (stowed under the seat in front of me). I like that I can put all the changing items in the front pocket that zips down so that I don't have to dig and reorganize. The hidden front pocket (you have to lift the buckle and flap) worked great for keeping the plane tickets safe but easy to find. The extra shoulder strap is pretty heavy so I don't use that. It is roomy enough for an extra outfit, a few toys and nursing shawl along with food for the day.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

Originally, we switched from the typical diaper bag to the back-pak generation with our first child about 4 yrs ago. we very much like the benefits of the backpack vrs the diaper bag. Convienent, more room to pack items, and most importantly, the back-pack frees up, at least, a hand and a hip. When we saw this back-pak advertised about a month ago, we were excited to try it. The idea of the organized compartments, durrability of the back-pak, ease of access to your supplies all appealed to us. Which, all of this is very impressive and we are very much pleased with these qualities. Even the cell phone holder is a pleasent addition. We appreciate everything that this back-pack has to offer and it deffinately lives up to all that is advertised about it. However, we are concerned with the 'stability' of the straps used to actually wear the back-pack. We are finding that when placed on your back, the straps are not staying once adjusted to size. This 'slippage' ultimately results in the need to carry the back-pack as a typical diaper bag, which, in turn, defeats the purpose of having a back-pack. If we cannot figure out a way to stabilize the straps, we will be soon returning to our original back-pack. Unfortunatley, for us, this one design flaw overshadows all of the other impressive charicteristics of this back-pak. If you plan on wearing this useing the shoulder strap or carrying it in your hand like a purse/brifcase, then it is an awesome product and very much worth the money. However, if your wanting to stay with the back-pak concept, then you may have problems with the straps as well.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

Better than any bag at the large chain baby stores. You pay about $40 more but get so much more too: tons of room, perfect number of pockets, strong construction, plain/classy color. Superb for travel - too much for daily use. No insulated pocket.

Comments about One Step Ahead Messenger Backpack Baby Diaper Bag:

I love this bag. It has everything...so many spaces, pockets, extra tidbits...its almost too much to organize! I am a mom of 2 kids, a 2 year old and a 5 month old. Its perfect to fit everything for both their needs in one bag and be able to access everything easily without having to tear apart a bag just to get to one item. I use it daily and love it. The only con is that because the bag is made of really sturdy leather which is fabulous...holds up well, its heavier than a traditional bag or backpack, and once filled...its bulky. But, its to be expected since it hold so much stuff! So, if you prefer to travel with one bag, this is it!! Worth the money for our families needs.

I purchased this bag when I had my second daughter because I needed more space. It is large, but it's so large it won't fit between the child seat and the front sit to store on the floor. And the straps are made of a silky material and the shoulder pad slides around and twists on it and the adjustment won't stay put. The bag does have a lot of great pockets and is well thought out in that respect, but for [$] I expect more.

I really like this bag. My first diaper bag was just that a diaper bag. This bag will continue to be useful even as he gets older for overnight trips. Yes this bag is pricey...but worth the cost for the multifunctional aspects.

Whoever designed this bag must have been a parent! I love the design! There are so many compartments! I have twins and we have destroyed two diaper bags because we put so much stuff in them. This is very durable (due to the leather) and easy to use. The pocket to put your wipes in is in the very front and easy accessible when you're needing them quickly. I know it's pricey, but very well worth it. My twins are 19 months now. I wish we would have had this since the day they were born! Great bag!
