Mechanic's Toy Car Engine & Tools

Although we tried several batteries, we cound not get the head lights to work.
However my two grandsons love this. This was a birthday gift for my 5 year old grandson but his little brother (2) is facinated with it as well. The 2 yr old cannot take it apart like the 5yr old.

really leary on purchasing this item by some of the reviews, then I read a review by someone who ignored the negative ones and really liked it. My grandson is 3 1/2 yrs old and EXTREMEMLY rough on everything. We have had this now since Christmas and he plays with it everyday. He wheels it all over the house and it is lasting wonderfully! Very pleased that I did decide to buy it!

Product was really good but cheap construction

Our grandson is a bit too young for this toy, but we knew that going in. Come warmer weather when he is older, and the outside is available, I fully anticipate he will be enthralled, and will share with his Dad.

I bought this as a gift for my 3 and 4 year old grandchildren. They really loved it and immediately knew exactly what to do . As brothers they are used to playing together and this allows both of them to work on the car at the same time. The only draw back to this is that all the bolts and little pieces are all over the place. Its too bad there isnt a piece or bucket for them to put all the parts in . I think we already lost a few screws. Never the less, this is a great toy and worth the money. Is there a place to buy replacement pieces?

The lights don't work. We've tried different batteries. The steering wheel keeps falling out. The hood won't open without dislodging parts. We are not impressed with this toy. We gave this to our Grandson, but it was such a disappointment, they didn't take it home when they left.

Our four-and-three-quaarters-year-old grandson played with it all Christmas afternoon and evening. Caught onto it instantly. Was clearly his favorite present. Very well designed and quality plastic used throughout. Only downside was the small screws on the battery cases made them very hard to open even for an adult. Only suggestion is that two or three extra plastic screws would be helpful to replace those lost, which will be certain to happen. Very impressed with this toy.

Excited to receive this toy from Santa to my grandson - he loves tinkering and pretending like he's working on cars. The engine is entertaining. My husband thought some of the assembly instructions were lacking a bit. The biggest disappointment was that the wheels attachment pieces were broken inside the wheel. (The box was taped up when we received it, but I just assumed it was normal packaging. Now I'm thinking someone returned a broken toy (Who does that???) and the company shipped without checking. Needless to say, when it's a toy from Santa there's no "taking it back" that a 4-year old understands. Since everything else works, we're keeping it, but has written to ask if the company can just send new wheels for us to put on it.

I bought this for my Son for Christmas and upon opening it I was a bit concerned about how flimsy it seems to be made and I thought it would be slightly bigger. Though after putting it together and having a minor panick attack because the steering wheel wouldn't snap into place (which was very easily fixed by calling customer service and having a replacement sent out at no charge)I am confident my Son will absolutely love it and it's actually just the right size for his room! I LOVE that he will have to "fix" things on it, and can't believe how much of it comes apart in a realistic manner. We are a car crazy family and I absolutely love this toy. I only hope it can hold up to our rough little boy! I can't wait to see his face Christmas morning when he see's this awesome toy! Happy Holidays everyone!

The concept of the car is a great idea, however I found the quality to be below what I was expecting. The horn did not work, the lights were very dim and the engine noise was barely audible. I did not like using the pictures for instructions.

This toy is amazing! Reading the mixed reviews I was really worried that it wouldn't work properly or be broken but it was perfect. I played with it for about 45 min while putting the batteries in and making sure everything worked. Way cool! My son did his happy dance for almost an hour when he unwrapped it and then took it to nap with him!

The steering wheel comes off too easy. If anyone knows how to make it stay on better, would appreciate an answer.

Our college age son put the car together, with some difficulty, as the instructions weren't written out clearly. This toy will take quite a bit of parental instruction for our grandson to understand how it works.

The Mechanic's Car is a hit for both our 3-year old (whose birthday gift it was) and his 4 1/2 year old brother. They mastered the toy's options with little delay. This toy has great play value with a purpose. Good quality construction.
One con- the battery housing for the horn is difficult to open without stripping the Pillip's head screws. I resorted to a very long, thin flat-blade screwdriver.

Santa brought this last Christmas. Over a year of hard use, it's held up fine. Other reviews complain about it being flimsy. The hood could be sturdier, but kids don't care! Other than that, construction is high quality. Downside: takes a while for mom to put together if kids abandon project!
