My 23 month old son LOVES our real vacuum cleaner. Even though the reviews were not great I went ahead and purchased this. The complaints are accurate. The wheels are very squeaky. Our vacuum sits upright on its own, but I see why others do not. The ball you roll on when vacuuming has a plastic 'clip'. This clip is what keeps it in the upright position. Once it breaks off the until will no longer stand on it's own. It is also difficult to 'un-clip' it so that it rolls on the ball. I haven't shown my son how as it is a definite injury waiting to happen. (Stuck or pinched fingers) This product could definitely be made better. With that said, my son LOVES it. He is too little to care if it actually picks up anything, he just likes to push it around, listen to the vacuum noise and watch the beads swirl in the front chamber. For these reasons I am happy and would buy it again.

Was excited to purchase this for my 2 yr old who loves to assemble and disassemble my dyson. Took it out of the box and no lie 5 mins later it was broken. The vacuum strip snapped from the ball. I looked at the pieces that connect the two and was pretty disappointed to see they were only connected by some small screws surrounded by thin plastic. Would expect more support in an area that would take soo much pressure from a child. Hopefully super glue and tape can mend it so its not entirely a waste. But it's not looking too good :/ pretty disappointed that it was soo easy to break. It does say for ages 3+. Maybe it's their way of saying toy is best for older children who aren't that rough on their toys I guess.

Bought this for our two year old son for christmas. three months later he is in tears that the front part cracked, broke off and can't be fixed. Like the other reviewwers said, it never really stood up on its own or locked into place. It received only occaisional use and now is ready for the garbage heap as it cannot be fixed. IT is overpriced and unreliable. Stay away. Given the usually high standards of OSA and Dyson, I am surprised by the inferior overall quality of this product. It just doesn't stand up to toddler wear and tear.

My son is obsessed with our Dyson. Every time I turn it on to use it he just comes running around the corner! He absolutely loves having his own vacuum. He plays with it on his own, but also likes to "work" beside me. This has kept him busy for a couple weeks now! Only downside, the motor is ridiculously annoying. Not loud loud, just annoying since my son will turn it on and just leave the room. We are looking forward to the battery going out!

Read reviews on another major website. Decided to order from One Step Ahead because of their guarantee. This product performed exactly as the other reviews from other websites mentioned. Unable to stand on its own, wheels did not retract properly. These were both mentioned on other sites as major problems. Its already in the box to go back after just about 2 days of play. So sad, as we really enjoyed it. Good luck if you order it. Customer service is of course excellent with One Step Ahead though, so thats a plus!!!

I had already bought a Dirt Devil vacuum to give my 2 1/2 year-old grandson because he wanted a "red" vacuum. Then my daughter thought he'd prefer one "just like mom's," so I ordered this Dyson model, as well. It was a total disappointment. It was less easy to operate, but the greatest complaint is that it would not stand upright. He tried twice to use it and gave up Christmas morning! That night Santa returned and made an exchange under the tree, leaving a note that he was very concerned about "satisfaction" so he traded sweepers. The drawing card was that I hoped that the quality would be of the "Dyson" products, but it was not.

Just like all of the other reviews I read, mine does not stand on its own. I also cannot get the wheels to raise and lower. I also cannot get the dirt catcher tray to slide back in since the wheels wont raise or lower. NOT worth it!!!!

Bought this for my son who LOVES to watch me vacuum and we have a dyson so I thought this was a no brainer. Wasn't really happy with the quality of the toy compared to other vacuum toys out there. It's boring and hard to push for my son.

My son loves this toy. He is always using my brooms and swiffers so when he got his own he loved it. Battery powered so sounds just like the real thing but not as noisy.

Bought two of these vacuums as Christmas gifts...tried to assemble but screw holding batteries was stripped and very difficult to remove. Unit doesn't stand on its own...must lean against a wall. Save your money and resist the urge to buy this 'Dyson' vacuum.
