Comments about Melissa & Doug Kids Magnetic Calendar:

I purchased this after having the "My Magnet Responsibility Chart" for my 5 year old so that she could have her own calendar that she could write on & organize herself. We have had the other chart for over three years & it has lasted through two moves & through her toddler years. She looooves to know everyone's birthday so the only complaint she would have is that there weren't enough blank magnets to write your own things on but that's' more her complaint not mine lol.

Comments about Melissa & Doug Kids Magnetic Calendar:

Got as a tool to start helping my 3 year old learn about days/months etc. He enjoys moving the magnets around and checking the days for things we have planned. I checked good size AND too much space. It is a little large, however, for it's intended purpose I don't see how you could make it any smaller, so I think the size thing is almost a necessary evil.

Comments about Melissa & Doug Kids Magnetic Calendar:

This product doesn't have the ability to grow w/the child. they should offer duplicate common used magnets. ie...no school, birthdays.
they should also give more years as only 4 given & 1 is over. If i was able to return I would.

Comments about Melissa & Doug Kids Magnetic Calendar:

I think this product is ok. It is heavy and I don't know where to hang it. My 3 and 5 year old sons are interested in playing with the pieces (it comes with pre-made 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch squares). The pre-made pieces are nice & colorful (they describe activities, holidays, daily chores, the weather, etc)...so that you put them on the magnetic calendar with their respective dates. Your child can then refer to their calendar to see what they are doing during the month.
Some problems with this system is that my kids want to pull the magnetic small pieces off the calendar and throw them around or stick them in their mouth (which ruins the piece). There should be a storage unit attached so the extra pieces can stay organized too.

Comments about Melissa & Doug Kids Magnetic Calendar:

My 5-year-old son has had this calendar for almost 2 years. There are magnets for different events and I put them on -- some at the beginning of the month and some the night before. Then we both know what's coming up. There are magnets for school events, sports, holidays of every denomination.
There were a few magnets that we needed and it didn't have, but I just made some using 2 of the magnets we never used. Used a magnet strip to make a few additional magnets for those "extra special" days.
