This is a nice wooden rail in the market. You can paint it to match the color of the bed frame. It's a bit expensive and most parents may not have time to mess with painting a rail at this point.

I was having a hard time getting my 2 year old son to transition to a toddler bed. We had tried it 2 times unsuccessfully. My friends mentioned they weren't having trouble but they had the rails on their convertible cribs. Mine did not and was completely open on the front. I assembled the product by myself and he has been sleeping in a toddler bed for 3 weeks without an ounce of trouble!

I was so excited to see this rail offered on One Step Ahead's website. I didn't think a sturdy bed rail was available that didn't require screwing into our existing crib. But, it's true. This thing works like a charm. Our crib converted to a toddler bed, but didn't offer a rail conversion kit. I thought the bed was too high for my active sleeper, convinced she would fall out. Since the "installation" of this rail, she's so excited about being a "big girl" and climbing in and out of the bed by herself...and, most importantly, has not fallen out. Excellent product! Thanks!

You can actually set this up with your toddler nearby, it's relatively quick. A great way to extend the use of your crib and give kids more independence. I scooted mine all the way to one side (not centered) as my little guy likes to sleep right up in the corner. suprisingly stable and it is very good-looking with a wooden crib.

We used this rail for approximately 2 years. It is great and the only one of its kind that we could locate in our area. We weren't thinking of a bedrail when we purchased a convertible crib & realized we needed it the 1st time our daughter fell out of bed. It still looks brand new & was easy to install. My daughter was comforted by the fact she could easily get out of bed, but would not fall out. A great product!!

Our 17 month old skipped all 3 weeks of us army airborne basic school and performed her final jump at approximately 4 feet in altitude about two weeks ago. This, Airborne trooper (fully qualified and awaiting a HALO (high altitude low oxygen) jump slot can now be denied. Hopefully this toddler bed rail will put a stop to all those other airborne toddler jumpmasters and paratroopers equiped with Bobos (pacifiers) and Babas (bottles).

It should be money well spent, after all this is tomorrows future, and when were at rest the troopers will fight one day for the freedom of their babies freedoms.

Good luck parents, were definately purchasing tommorow! hopefully, maybe, possibly, ok maybe,....ok well talk about it, afterall its our little princess, ok we spoke ...were getting it.

Not my best value buy, felt it was way overpriced. Paid [$] with tax for a fairly simple rail.(in canada) Found in anoying that the "under the matress" parts shift a bit, but maybe that doesn't matter as it has not been a problem really. Would like for it to come in different colours but it could be easily stained.I did think it was a good design idea and no screws, wrenches or tools to put it together was neat.Overall, it did the trick and i am happy with it. My son is sleeping right now in his own bed and i don't have to worry he will wipe out in the middle of the night like last night.All the bestC

We bought this bed rail when our 2 1/2 year old was getting too big for us to lift in and out of his crib plus with nighttime potty training beginning this was a must. The crib we have is a "convertible" crib but did not come with the guard rail (sold seperately and very highly priced[...]), so we decided to try this one. Took less than a week to come and it attached perfectly onto our son's crib and seems very sturdy. We had no problem with it not being one that was "made for" our crib. Only wish it came in a darker wood color. We placed it all the way to one end as it allowed for our son to get in and out easier, plus the corner by his head seems to be where he ends up most nights. Great product, highly recommend.

We just converted my 2 yo daughter's crib to a toddler bed & couldn't figure out what kind of bed rail to use. This is the only one we could find for a convertible crib and we are very happy with it. It has given her such independence being able to climb in & out of her very own bed.

I absolutely love this rail. It was easy to assemble, and it attaches on the other side of the bed making it very sturdy. I did move it up where it's at the far end of the bed leaving more room for my daughter to get in and out of the bed. It matches her set perfectly. The natural finish rail is exactly that - it is completely unfinished, so you do need to use polyurethane to coat it. I had read that in other reviews and was expecting that. It looks almost as if it was made for her bed. It's very attractive. It doesn't budge even if she sleeps right up against it. I'm very, very pleased with this rail.

I had to change my 18 month old daughters crib to a conventional bed. However it did not come with a bedrail. I have looked everywhere for a bedrail that I felt was safe and sturdy. I havent been able to find one untill I found One Step Ahead! I centerered it like the instructions said to do. My aughter can get in and out just fine on her own. It kepps her in bed at naps and bedtime! I already recommanded this product, and your company to my sister in law that just had twins!!!

I purchased this product because my son's crib was recalled and the railing to convert it to a toddler bed was discontinued. After reading some reviews I decided to get this railing. I off centered it so he could climb in and out of the crib. It is woriking great. It seems a little unsteady but he hasn't fallen out. My son's crib is natural so the railing once stained matches perfectly. Thanks one step ahead, I thought I was going to have to get rid of his crib, Love this company!
