Help your child practice handwriting, and develop sound habits, with these ingenious templates! As kids trace each letter, they learn to form letters correctly and develop proper stroke patterns. The pliable 8½" x 11" manuscript templates force the hand to lift where lift should occur in the writing sequence, while numbers and arrows provide step-by-step instruction. Great for developing coordination; works equally well for righties and lefties. Kit includes 2 plates (with upper and lower case letters) plus 4 pencils. See Product Details

So disappointed that they are unusable

Comments about School-Rite Handwriting Manuscript Kit:
I have not opened the Uppercase set yet; however, we have tried to use the lowercase letter template. The curves in which to follow do not connect/follow through to the rest of the letter so as to complete the letter. Examples are the letters "a, b, d, g, k, p and q". Therefore, when you see the letter afterward on the paper, it looks ridiculous and incorrect. Also, it would help if the letters were a bit smaller. We are trying to teach children not to write so big. I guess if they are younger, that wouldn't matter as much.I am so disappointed. I have not been able to find these stencils anywhere else, and was excited that you had them. I was counting on them to help my son to write better. I have not returned them, because I find it difficult and time consuming to do so. However, if I could easily do it, I would like a refund.

Quality Product. Sturdy and easy to use

About Me Education Oriented, Parent of 2 w autism
I bought this to help my 5 year old with Autism write better before starting kindergarten. He took to it right away wanting to write words. Not sure if it is helping writing letters freestyle because he won't follow the number guidelines but it is defitnately helping him write legible words that we sound out and spell together and then use the template to write them. My 3 year old with Autism took to it right away too - his fine motor skills are much stronger. He quickly wrote every letter with the template but not necessarily following the number guidelines either. In any case it gets them to the table to do work.

About Me Education Oriented, Grandparent, Parent Of Two Or More Children
Although it teaches children to correctly form individual letters, it's clumsy if used to spell even short words.

Good idea, but maybe not for toddlers

About Me First Time Parent
I got this to help my toddler with his letters and numbers. He likes using it, which is always a bonus. The letters have spacings which keep the shapes attached to the stencil, which throws him off when he goes to free hand trace the letter as the instructions suggest. He's still young, but I think he'll get it with repeated use and time.

About Me Education Oriented, Parent Of Two Or More Children, Stay At Home Parent
I bought this for my almost 4 year old son because he is having a hard time holding a pencil and forming his letters in preschool. He loves working with the stencils and will use them for long periods of time by himself. However, as we work on tracing the letters on his own he's having a hard time writing them correctly because of the spaces caused by the stencils in many of the letters. It confuses him and he is not forming the letters correctly.

About Me Parent Of Multiples (Twins etc), Parent Of Two Or More Children
Great tool for learning and the kids were fighting over who gets to trace letters and numbers. Always a good sign when they are fighting over a toy, even though it was more educational.

This has really helped to boost my son's confidence in writing his letters, especially the lower case letters. Definately worth the investment.

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children
I do like this product, but I think its over priced. I also dont like that there are breaks in the letters. They should not of done that. Its not how real letters look. So I have to teach them to connect the letters where the gaps are. Its ok.

I'm trying to get my 4yr old ready for Kindergarten. She loves to practice writing with these stencils and then trying to write the letters on her own. Its never too early to start getting your kids ready for school. There's no such thing as being too prepared.

My daughter likes to "draw" her letters. This has helped her recognize the alphabet.
Just OK

I got these for my 4 year old (so that she could get the hang of writting) and my 6 year old (who has issues with hand writting). I said just OK because these make the letters disconnted, and not how you actually write them. These are good for younger kids to practice with, but then I think you would have to kinda reteach them the proper/actual way to write them on their own
Love it!!!
