This is cute and I like the fact that it is made out of wood, which is rare these days. My 8 month old daughter likes beating on the xylophone though she's too young to understand about pushing the balls through the holes. My only complaint is that, as other reviewers have said, the xylophone is out of tune! The lowest note is a half pitch high, so it does not make a full octave and sounds funky. All other notes are fine though. I am still recommending it because it is really cute looking and good quality otherwise and the mallet is nice and fun. But if you are only looking for a good xylophone I would not recommend.

We were very excited when we first saw this classic, colorful toy, but our 14 month was startled to tears by the sudden noise of the balls falling on the xylophone the first time she heard it! It took a little coaxing to get her near it again, but she soon learned to take the xylophone part out and plays with the parts separately, matching up the colored balls to their holes and pushing them through. It holds her attention for maybe 5 minutes? It's not a bad toy, but the biggest disapointment is that it is thoroughly out of tune. A terrible intoroduction to music! Don't buy it for the sake of the xylophone.

This gift from Santa for our one year old, was such a hit with everyone! Her sister and older cousins enjoyed it too. We love wooden toys and musical instruments are always fun in our house. Would definitely buy as a gift for someone.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our child who had just turned two years old. Christmas morning, we helped him open it only to discover that it was broken. Additionally, the xylophone portion was poorly tuned.

My 17 month old LOVES this musical toy. She loves to pound on things, and this gives her immediate gratification when the balls fall through the hole and play music down the xylaphone.

Both my three-year-old and my twenty-month-old daughters love this bench. They like both features. One minute they will be pounding and the next playing the xylophone.
