I bought this for my 6 month old and she loves to watch it and hear the sounds. However my 3 year old enjoys it even more.she put it together herself and figured out how to run it.I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this as a first birthday present for my very active grandson. After watching him "play" with this set I do think he is too young for it. He couldn't quite figure out how to make it go even with a demonstration. He got bored pretty quickly watching an adult make it work and then just having it circle and circle the track. The train was much more interesting to him when we took it off the track and just let it go on the carpet. Perhaps he will grow into this, but I wish I had bought something else for a 12 month old.

I phurphased this toy on one day deal and the quality is very very good. The train can move on carpet easily and everyone in my home loves it. Highly recommend.

We haven't used it yet, but I was disappointed in the age listed. It said 12+ on the front of the box, but when I read the small print on the bottom of the box, it said it should only be used with adult supervision if under the age of 4. That is quite a big difference.
