We ordered this product to keep our 18 month old daughter out of the pantry and linen closet. It was easy to install and fairly easy to use. It is a snug fit on our doors so it doesn't slide quite as easy as I would like it but it works effectively when in proper position.

I use this on my kitchen pantry door. It prevents my pre-school age and toddler kids from playing with the door and pinching fingers. I love it, it works great because even if the kids stand on a chair, they still can't reach it to unlock the door.

My 3 year old daughter, likes to check what is inside of every closet we have in the house, and every time I arrived to every room I always used to find a big mess. Now since I install this locks my life is more simple and happy!

It works great, except for one minor issue. The only problem I have is that one of my closet doors doesn't line up exactly even, so unfortunately I'm ubale to use the lock on that one door. And since I already opened the package, I'm assuming I can't return it. It would be nice if the lock was a little bit wider, in case the doors are a smidge uneven, like mine. For now I've resorted to putting toys in front of the door so our daughter won't be tempted to open it and hope that works until i can find something else.

These probably work better if the top of your door is the same width all the way across. Our door has a thicker trim of wood running down the seam where the lock needs to go (see picture), so it doesn't fit quite like should. It keeps the door from opening so little ones can't get into trouble with what's behind the door, but there's still enough movement that a pinched finger isn't out of the question. If you don't have this issue with your door, then it seems like it would get the job done.

We used these first all over the house to keep our toddler twins from tearing apart every closet (one of their favorite activities). They are mostly over that stage but we now use the closet locks in the kids' bedrooms to keep them out of their closets at night, both to avoid the mess and because their dressers are in their closets and this way I don't have to worry about climbing and tipping. Installation took all of 5 seconds and they're hardly noticeable. They're also a cinch to use, just slide them over and open the door; it's no extra time or frustration at all. These are a great, simple solution to keep the kids out of trouble.

This is a simple cheap piece of plastic but so far has done the job. It seems a little flimsy but my daughter is still tiny so no matter how hard she pulls on the door I don't think it would snap. There really aren't installation directions but it is as simple as just placing the plastic piece on top of the door. We didn't need the extra piece since our door was thick enough. Hopefully it will hold up.

The lock slides across the top of the door, so if you have bi-fold doors with the sliders on the top, THIS WILL NOT WORK. The piece that connects the door to the slide mechanism gets in the way. Ended up getting a hook and eye latch setup at the hardware store.

I bought these at a local store a few years ago for my pantry bifold doors. You need one for each door. They slide over the center of each bifold door, they will not fit in the center between the two bifold doors. I am thinking this alot of peoples misconception as to how these work. I love that they just slide right on and they are clear, you hardly notice them. These work so much better than the smaller versions that are half the size and white. It's the only child safety lock my 3yr old hasn't figured out or broken off. My pantry has been safely organized for 5yrs now, as long as we remember to lock them ;)

My son was always getting his fingers pinched in his closet doors, and this was the perfect solution. They are so easy to install and use and they work GREAT. The only thing that was "wrong" was that I didn't fully understand from the online description how exactly they worked, so I didn't order enough for all of our closets. I've already placed my order for more.

These locks are so easy to install and effective. My parents used to just remove the door knobs on bi-fold doors but this is a much better solution!

I'm SO glad I found these! My husband built a new pantry for our kitchen and all of a sudden we realized that with the new bi-folding doors, ALL of our food items were at the mercy of our children, who love to eat and tear into things, making a huge mess. These were on the doors within about 4 seconds after taking them out of the package and have worked perfectly for us for months now. I love them so much that when I finally got tired of my daughter going through ALL of the clothes in her closet every day... here I am to order more for her room and her sister's. We LOVE these!!

Such an easy solution to a big problem. My son loved entering our pantry and playing with everything and making a big mess. Not a problem any more. I actually wish I bought this when my daughter was his age. He no longer even tries to open the door, but I still keep it "locked" with the device.

I recently read an article about safety issues with children and washing machines. Our washing machine and dryer are right off of my son's playroom, so I wanted to be sure that he was safe. These were super easy to put on...you just slip it over the top of the door. To lock it, just slide it between the two sections of the bio-fold. Works like a charm!
