Living in AZ where the sun relentlessly bakes the car, the seatbelt buckels would heat up and be almost branding irons. I got a seat cover that that had ice packs in it, and that helped some. However, the ice packs would very quickly be liquid. We got this cover as a way to keep the seat less intense when it is parked outside of work and baking. This cover works great at keeping the seat cooler so that my child doesn't cry about the seat being too hot. Product works great and is saving us many long waits outside for the A/C to cool the seat.

I was hesitant after reading mixed reviews about this product, but I decided to give it a try. This seat cover is EASY to use. I have a 1 year old and I can put this cover on her Britax convertible car seat with ONE HAND while holding her! I do not understand why other parents found this so difficult to put on. I love this cover.

Whenever my truck is parked outside and in direct sunlight, I use this. It helps prevent the metal pieces from becoming extremely hot. I remove the covering while the trucks A/C is on and it quickens our time getting into the truck without my daughter screaming from being scorched from the metal pieces.

I purchased 2 car seat covers (one for my truck and my mother's sedan).
We reside in California where the weather gets hot. So, we cover my toddler's car seat with this cover when parked in the garage or when exposed to the sun. Indeed, it keeps the car seat cool instead of scorching hot. My daughter is able to sit comfortably in her car seat without a fuss.

I was very excited about this product, because it's amazing how fast the car seat heats up when out doing multiple errands, and my daughter has either been very uncomfortable and fidgety, or I've had to start the car and cool it off for several minutes before I can strap her in. I'm not sure who did the testing that said this keeps the car seat 26 degrees cooler, but I haven't found that to be the case. It definitely is better than nothing, especially if parked in the sun, but on a 90+ day it won't be enough to keep the seat truly comfortable (especially if there are metal clasps that can touch your child).

It fits my daughter's car seat and can fold up quite small but the quality doesn't seem to be too sturdy for the price. It does the job, though.

It can be irritating to have yet another baby item that needs to be dealt with while you're out and about with all the other baby stuff you have to take with you. However, it's really hot here and I needed something to keep the carseat from getting so hot that it burns my baby. I don't know how much cooler it keeps the seat, but it's enough for us.

The size of this children car seat sun shade is NOT big enough for my son's Britax booster(27H x 20W x 28D), this type of standard car seat cannot been fully covered.
In addition, after 1 week of using, the edge of the shade has been losing its elasticity,which could NOT been used any more. Quality need to been improved.

In over 100 degree heat I was worried about my daughter getting burned by the metal parts of the seat belt in her car seat. With this sun shade I don't have to worry at all. Now if only they made them for the whole car!

Live in Texas...bought 3 and have been happy with my purchase. I was a little skeptical at first, but I can definitely tell a difference. I also started using a sun shade for the windshield and I think the combination is great. It is a little hard to put on the car seat cover when I have my grandson and I'm by myself. I figured out that I have to put the top on (with my grandson still in his seat), pull him out, hold him with one hand and pull the cover the rest of the way down with the other. It's a little harder one handed, but when you have no choice...
