I don't think they work for us - our cords are all circular - you pull one end to raise, one to lower. I don't think the cord is long enough to cut to have one cord for each direction.

These do the job very well but do have a few drawbacks. We find over time that they do need to be replaced as they will stop to function ie. lock up or break off. This has resulted in some shades needing repairs as well. Also when we cut the cords the shade doesn't now shut all the way down. We are looking to restring all our shades now after having these a few years. Not sure if there is a better product on the market but will look first before getting yet more replacements.

I don't have any young children in the house and no grandchildren yet but was looking for away to hide and control the unsightly cords and found this great product. It works great.

I was just putting the cords on top of our window sills, but always wanted safer. They work great, no problems. We have them on windows with 2 and 3 strings per window and they work great.

I've used the other wind-up circles for blind cords, but these are SO much nicer - one hand operation, stays in place, light so it doesn't pull on the blinds, and I haven't had to fix them like I was always doing with the other kind. They keep the cords out of sight/out of mind so my children don't even think about them - they were just what I wanted!

These were easy to install, making sure to put the knot into the slider the correct direction. They are simple to use and retract easily. I can even get my husband to do it, which says a lot! Finally the 3 yr old can't pull and dance with the blind cords because the retractor is too high to reach.

These are great- they work really well, are strong and give me a peace of mind. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the first one snapped into place before I put the cord in it, so I had to discard that one.

Looked good, installed easily, but immediately ate the cord so the blind could no longer be put down. Only fix was to destroy the protector to retrieve the cord. Might work well for shorter windows, ours are 6 feet.

I ordered these for the blinds over my stove, to keep the cords away from the flames. My blinds have 4 cords which don't all fit into this device together. I was able to fudge something to make it work, so the device is useful even though not being used as intended. I do appreciate that in the directions they recommend using separate devices for each cord to avoid creating a strangulation hazard for children.

This is the only kind of blind-winder I've ever used and I think it works great. My husband installed them quickly so I guess it was pretty easy. They are a quick easy way to keep my son from playing with dangling blind cords and I would definitely recommend them.

Being a stay at home Mom with my husband away in Afghanistan, I worry about "what if". This blindwinder allows me a little peace of mind. Even though I watch her and am always with her...I never underestimate the speed of an 8 month old! You can never be too careful when it comes to your children!
