my 2 year old loves walking her cat, the wire does come apart easily but it is easy enough for her to put back together. She learned quickly that she can't pull the cat along, she just has to be patient and walk as slowly as the remote lets the cat go.

Not durabel at all, as other reviewers pointed out. My daughter loved it but it stop working the first night :( I am planning to return it. I am very surprised with all the good pruducts that one step ahead has how this one didn't turn out well.

I bought this for my son when he was 16 months old. He loved playing with it and then he learned how to disconnect the cord and like the other comments it became a pain because he would get mad that he couldn't put it back together. Then all of a sudden it quit working the dog would bark and it would move but only intermittently. I am very saddened by this as is my son because now he can't play with it anymore as a remote control like he once did. Otherwise the concept is great and he did get 2 months of play out of it... But I wouldn't recommend it as I feel I wasted [$] on it.

the cord, is in three piesces, one attached tot he dog, one sigle section and one attached to the remote contro, the cord breaks apart easy- i guess so there is no danger of it getting wrapped around something but muy little girl just barley pulls on it and it detaches, (the cord sections snap together like legos) it fustrates her to no end! if she was shorter it might work better ...like if she was a yr old...not for a 2 yr old. she does like the doggy though

I purchased the cat & the dog for my two year old twins. The quick release came loose too easily so I had to tape the connections together. Otherwise, they were bringing me the toy every two minutes to reconnect so they can hear the sound & move. I think the string could be longer. My kids ended up pulling the toy along instead of walking the cat/dog. After a couple of months, the string ended up breaking off completely so no more sounds, moving, etc on it's own. Fun while it lasted...I guess.

This toy is adorable! I love the music and barking sounds and my son's face lights up when he plays with it. He still wants to carry the dog around (he's 19 months) but I'm sure will figure out the controls soon enough. My only issue is with the quick release safety connections on the "leash". My son quickly figured out how to pull it apart and it became more of a game than the dog itself. We actually had to tape these together so he could play with the toy. (I don't recommend this if you are not going to supervise your child while playing with this toy because it IS a safety feature) Other than that, it's fantastic!!

We gave this to our 19 month old for Christmas. He loves it. His favorite part is "disconnecting the cord and "reconnecting" it.. Not sure how safe this is. It was one of the 1st thing he recognized. I understand the concept and even like that its a break away cord but it comes apart with ease. Then of course you are looking for 3 pieces to put the puppy together again. Honestly, its an ok buy but I really dislike the cord

I bought two of these toys for gifts. One recipient was thrilled and loves the toy. The other didn't work, so I had to find an alternate gift. I ended up giving them my son's RC toy (don't tell him) and I am sending the little dog back. I am disappointed because it is so cute and was perfect for the age and personality of the child.

My 18 month old son loves this. Just laughs and grins whenever he plays with it. The connections seem to come loose some and it needs to be turned off and connections checked from time to time. Would buy again and again though

Very durable and easy for small toddlers to use. Works best on a hard surface, not carpet.

The little remote control dog is just so cute. But, for some reason they designed it with two plug connections that easily come apart. When that happens the child walks away. It should be one smooth cord. Maybe it breaks for choking reasons. But, I found it frustrating. That said, my grandson was fascinated by the movement and his ability to control it. He just turned two.
