I have a 21 month old toddler with a baby on the way due in April. I also watch a 7 month old at home 3 days a week - I needed a specified area where they could play AND where I could see them from the kitchen that was "cushy" since we have mostly hardwood floors. This mat is perfect! It's colorful and extra thick (a BIG plus) and identifies the area well. I occasionally watch my 5 yr old niece also, and she LOVES taking the letters and numbers out to play with them. We also got the edges which make a very nice, finished look.

Very thick and great quality. My daughter loves taking the small pieces and chewing them . Not fun!! I've already lost a couple of the pieces and have to throw away.

We use this to pad our hardwood floors and make a colorful romper room for our toddler and infant. Noticeably more comfortable than thinner brands. Our toddler likes to take out/replace the letters and tumbling. The edge-piece and corner sets make for an appealing display. Note: puzzle play mats from different brands are not compatible. Besides the alphabet set, we also purchased numbers, shapes, solid colors, edges and outside corners. My only wish for improvement on this product is if there was an inside corner set like the hardwood-patterned foam set.

We got this for my 2 year old for his birthday because he loves puzzles and shapes. He has played with it everyday for the last 2 weeks (so has my 4 year old). It is a thick foam, very nice quality. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the asterisk shape is hard for him to fit together by himself. I even have to "make" it fit.

We have had the mat for three months and we love it. The colors are great and the mat is soft enough for playtime yet sturdy. There was no odor. Easy to move to different rooms and easy to clean. I use the steamer and dry swiffer on it. Definitely recommend.

These are perfect for my granddaughter to sit and play and keeps her off the carpet where everyone walks. Easy to clean! and she figured out how to remove the shapes and put them back!

We loved this playmat so much that we ordered enough to cover our entire playroom. It is thicker than most other playmats, which is nice when you sit on the floor to play with your child(ren). It will grow with them, as well.

Also, their comments for what to order to fill an 8x10 space was perfect...this was very, very helpful.

We did receive a few defective pieces, but OneStepAhead's customer service was fantastic! They replaced the pieces immediately.

My nine month old daughter absolutely loves her puzzle mat and it will grow with her when she starts learning different shapes and how to assemble the pieces together.

I bought these in addition to the regular solid blocks, and I'm so glad that I did. My 2yr old absolutely loves to take the shapes out and put them back and carries the shapes around the house, talking about which shape is which, etc. The only con is that one of the smaller pieces has disappeared already after a few weeks...but that's not due to any fault in design or construction or anything like that. They're well made and none of the pieces are too small or dangerous for a baby. I highly recommend these as an augmentation to the standard set.

It is true that our eight month old son uses those puzzles more as a chewing buddy thus far, but we do go thru them periodically, take them out one by one, and look at the different shapes and colors!!! They really add excitement and interesting look to your floors and make the play time more fun. They can be combined with the rest of the other foam puzzles and create a super awesome, learning, and safe environment for our little one. They are so soft!!! It is great for tile or wooden floors, or any floor in that matter. Love it!

Love these tiles! They are thick and colorful and my son definitely is interested in them. The only downside is the smell... Even after airing them outside every day for a week, they still have an artificial smell to them =(

As soon as I put it down on the floor, the baby (15 months old) loved it! Cushy and colorful. The baby has learned all the shapes and plays with it all the time. I would definitely recommend it!

This product is great!! I have seen other products that are really cheesy foam, this mat is thick and gives me an extra sence of security. Our floor is all tile and very hard. My son is learning to sit up and has fallen while on the mat and hit his head several times and does not cry or even give a sad face. He has spit up on the mat as well, the clean up is easy. You will have to take the mat apart where the mess is to get in the opeings, but not a pain to do this.

I also vaccume over the mat to clean it and it does not fall apart or get sectioned up by the vaccume.

I have an 85 pound dog that puts holes in the mat with his nails. That said, I would still purchase this product.

This mat is a great playmat for our twins. The girls can crawl all over and practice their sitting up without us fearing they'll topple over and hurt themselves. The thickness really helps protect them AND it is soft for us to sit on to play with them. The colors are fantastic and stimulating and we go over our numbers and letters while sitting to play. My twins are seven months old right now and I can see as they grow they can put the 'puzzles' together and build cubes with them. We really love this product and would recommend to any parent !! Also easy to wipe clean.
