I think that this product would've been more effective if used from the beginning. My son HATES to have his nose cleaned and our hope was that this would help. Because it is so loud when using, he knows whats coming and not swayed from the music. Maybe if we started using from the beginning and if it is truly more gentle then it would be better to use. Really have been indifferent about it thus far though...

If I had to do it over again I wouldn't buy it. The only thing it was good for was during the day sucking the snot that was visible to the eye. When I had to breastfeed and really get my daughter's nose clean I had to use the bulb syringe in order to really get her nose clear. So it isn't worth the money. Ive already lost the plastic piece that fits inside the sucker...so now I can't even use it.

This is a great product...so much more efficient than suctioning with a bulb suctioner. We read the reviews before purchasing, and there were several people that said they didn't "get anything" when they used it. Sometimes you don't see what you've got until you've run it under water and cleaned it. Make sure and do this before making a decision about whether or not it works. We have a 2 month old that got RSV and had to be hospitalized. We were suctioning her at home so much, and she was a trooper with the bulb, but got irritated because it would take so long to get everything. This device has really helped us out and cut down on the number of times we suction at all. Do make sure and use saline drops first (which is good to do with any suctioner).

Not worth the money. The music can not be heard over the noise the aspirator makes and doesn't play very long. The aspirator ends are not very good sizes to clear the nasal passage effectively. I'm back to using the bulb aspirator.

I bought the nasal clear because I thought it would be more convenient for the baby and me. This product it is not as effective as I thought it would be. Yes it cleans the baby nose but it takes forever. The problem with this product is the suction. It should be more powerful.

After doing a fair amount of research and reading all reviews, I settled on this (as one of the) solution(s) for congestion. The music was a great distraction, but it didn't play long enough. It seemed to work well ....for about a week. then the suction stopped. So, you finally have this great tool that is much better than the bulb, but then it only lasts for about a week and your back to the bulb. :-( waste of money, but more importantly time and relief for your baby!

this thing is not as great as it looks...the start is delayed & the vibration/sound startels my infant & my 2 year old refuses to let me use it on her. I think my buld syringe works better than this thing. I am contemplating on returning this thing.

This aspirator was not the first one I bought. I bought a different one for $29 and this one was ten times better. It really gets the mucus out more effectively than the bulbs. I was really amazed. Having to wash out the collected mucus is gross but the product is very effective.

I have used this product for about a year and a half. After numerous doctors asked me in wonder where I got this thing, I had to do a little research, as my wife actually made the purchase. While a bit surprised, I can understand the negative reviews given the intelligence ascertained by the grammar used in many of the reviews. This product is truly great. Like any tool, instrument, or device, a certain skill is required to make the tool, instrument, or device effective. Some practice and vigilant saline usage make this device very effective. Forcing usage of this device on a toddler is at times not fun for either party (like the saline application) – agreed; but the parent with strong resolve for success can yield excellent results if an 'ends justifies means' approach is taken to the employment of this device. I have used the bulbs effectively, but will always choose this device over a bulb when possible. Here is a visual: McDonald's milkshake at the bottom when only a small amount is left… if you put the straw in the middle and suck, you will clean out only a small area around the straw. If you continue to suck while moving the straw, you can evacuate the entire bottom of the cup… The same theory applies to this device when using it in a nasal cavity.Words of caution:1)I agree with some people that some units have low suction. We have purchase 4 units, 1 is significantly less effective than the other three – right out of the box. The vacuum pump seems to run at lower RPM than the other units.2)Gentleness… I started using this instrument on a 1 ½ year old. On my newborn, I did notice that it was a bit too aggressive when we needed to use it on him when he was 2 months old. I think we actually ruptured the skin inside his nasal cavity when we let the instrument suck against his nasal cavity too long – indicator was a [*] evacuation the next few hours. The moral of this point is that when the vacuum motor starts to load up, stop and move to the next spot. This speaks to the skill level required in the statement above.Ken LiningerCosta Mesa CA

Wasn't sure what to expect or if this thing was all gimic and no substance, but it works. My infant is intrigued by the music and I see the evidence that it is getting the job done every time I use it! I had a fight every time I got the bulb aspirator out, so this is a definite improvement.

I purchased this item after our 10month old son had an nasal infection previously to have "just in case" Well, it has now come in handy. He has Bronchitis and a head cold. It plays music at a very good level and it really amazed me at the suction. It is gentle to him, but at the same token, if there is quite a bit of muscus in the nose.........it is very powerful. Great tips to change out depending on the child. Very easy to clean and can be sterilized for the next use. It doesn't irritate his nose or make it itch. We have used it several times a day. Runs on 2 "AA" batteries. He even loves to hold it and push the button for the music!
