This toilet seat is overall pretty cool. My sons can sit on the toilet and feel like they are not going to fall in. It has a shinny lacker finish that I wasnt expecting. The only fault is when you try and put the seat up to pee standing it falls down. My husband had to rig up something to make it stay up, but really good for sitting.

Just bought it for out 3 1/2 year old girl. She loves it. It is better than putting a training ring on an off the toilet and certainly better than a stand alone potty chair. No mess to clean up.

This is SO much easier to keep clean than traditional plastic potty seats. We also puchased a Kohler extended seat (longer)for another bathroom because this was not available in white at the time and a benefit to that one is that it has "no slam" technology which makes the (lightweight plastic) close VERY slowly, even if it falls. This one is nicer because it is heavier duty and less likely to break in my opinion. However, because it is so heavy, it also poses the risk of falling on little fingers as well. The Kohler seat also makes it easier to access the potty seat for little ones, in that it just lifts up and is not attached to the adult seat, whereas this seat "locks" the potty seat into the lid, so a little one needs to know how to maneuver that in order to access just the potty seat. My daughter is 4 and tall and thin (43inches/41 lbs), but complains a bit occasionally that the potty seat is a little too small for her, but the adult seat is a little too big for her on both products. For the record, I would buy either this seat or the Kohler again, without qualms, have owned both for about 3 weeks. Pricing was a bit higher on the Kohler seat (lists for $69, I think), but I got it at a discount through [...]and got it for about $49 or so.

When I first saw this device, I thought, "Wow! What a great idea!" I ordered one for myself, one for my kids' grandparents, and one for a friend with two small children. While we all installed the toilet seat, I'm the only one who still uses it. The others stopped because it just doesn't seem to fit any of our standard sized toilets and does not seem to attach securely. Otherwise a great product, but this facet seems to be poorly designed. We are all engineers and not mechanically challenged- we installed the seats properly.

We've put up with the ill fit because my 3 year old daughter loves the seat. The smaller seat does tuck away very securely. But occasionally the ill-fitting attachment to the toilet body slips and the lid hits her in the back while she is sitting down. This is not exactly positive reinforcement!

This seemed like a good idea but never functioned well. First off, the seat will not stay up when daddy stands at the toilet. It won't open past vertical and so it won't stay up by itself. Also, The hinge functions too smoothly to allow enough friction to hold it up. If you buy this prepare to hold the seat open every time a male in your family has to pee. Secondly, the seat slips on the toilet no matter how tight I have made the thumb screws that hold it on. I have even taken a wrench to them and cranked them down as tight as I can. As a result, every time we sit on the seat and it slips the seat crashes into our back. I would not recommend this until they work out the design flaws.

Very nice design. Only con is that seat material is quite hard. Overall useful addition to our bathroom.

This looked to be a good buy and as a mom it works for me. However, my husband and 2 sons are having trouble. If the boys sit to take care of both potty needs there is nothing to stop the spray. And when they (and daddy) try to lift the main seat it won't stay up. I think this would be great in a house of women/girls but I'm out numbered here and should have paid attention to the reviews and not paid the $40+ for this seat.

this seat does not look anything like wood, it looks like plastic, painted wood. It is hideous, and although functional, i will not put it in my bathroom with all the other real wood. It should not be advertised as pine, my actual toilet seat is pine. if you want this seat for functionality, go for it, but you might as well not pay $10 extra for the "wood"

The kids were trained on it. The great thing is that you don't have to find a spot for the toilet seat when not in use. So feels cleaner. It's easy to wipe clean. But, the girls did have spill over onto the larger seat and floor for the first few weeks. Most of those insert seats have a lip on it to keep it in place and avoid spill over. This does not. That is the only 'not so great' feature.

After my 2 year old daughter enthusiastically used a smaller seat like this recently, I thought we had to get this seat. We have been using it for about a month. It was easy to install and looks nice. The concept is great, however, it is quite uncomfortable for my daughter, my husband and I. Also, the lid does not stay up on its own when my husband lifts it. We were excited to start potty training but my daughter will not use this seat. I am reluctant to take it off so we don't waste the money; maybe she will get use to it (like my husband and I are trying)? Maybe she will stop yelling "No Potty" whenever we go near it... or maybe not!
