I bought this for my grand-daughter when she was born...she is now 3 1/2 years old. As an infant she was kept safe from other kids running around, then she learned to walk holding on the edge, as a toddler it gave her plenty of room to play and now...she loves to use it as a house and at night we sometimes put sheets on the top and pretend we are camping. I'm sure in years to come she'll still use it when playing house with friends...my guess is she'll keep getting use out of it at least until she turns 5. It's great fun...I did purchase two sets to piece together and have never regretted doing that. (Although for an infant one is plenty)

Bought this to keep our three labs from knocking our grandson over. He stayed with us a week when he 8 months and again when he was 10 months. I put different toys in it and he is hapy to stay inside and play...I get in with him at times but if I have enough to keep him occupied inside, he plays for hours. This last visit he used the gate to pull himself up and started walking so I am very pleased that I have the fenced in area. I bought the original and two extensions and reshape the area every night so it looks new with new corners to explore.

I've got a very active 10 mo old but all tile flooring so we bought this and the alphabet floor padding to create a play area for him when he was about 8 mo. It's been great, though lately he's starting to rebel against being fenced in. Couple things to note.
1 - I purchased this particular item because it had vertical slats versus the honeycomb holes thinking DS wouldn't be able to climb it. Well, that worked until just recently. The yellow connecting pieces have a wider section opening where they attach (about 8 inches off ground) that he can get his foot in and try to push himself up over the side. The door also has a horizontal slat across the bottom that he tried to use as a toe-hold before but it's not high enough to give him much of an advantage.
2 - I use this on top of the alphabet padded flooring which is textured so the little suction cups on the gate don't work for me. DS is able to push the playzone walls wherever he wants to go. Not dragging the whole thing, but adjusting the shape to suit his needs (and he usually "needs" to push it beyond the mat). We do have added extensions so that may be what makes it easier for him to adjust.

Overall I'm very pleased with this product. Not sure it'll suit us much longer without direct supervision given the climbing thing, but still happy with the purchase.

I Recently purchased this product for my 8 months old daugther. Just got it yesterday so I haven't used it a lot yet but neither my husband or I were too impressed with it. It should have an on/off & volume switch for the music!!! I agree with other customers that it is too small by itself, you definetely need to buy some extensions which I just did. Too pricey in my opinion.

This is NOT a play area for some toddlers. If you have a climber or a pusher, this is NOT the product for you. Our son easily pushed the "walls" so that the area lost its shape and even tipped over a few times (which caused a weird collapse because of the shape). Was a great play area when he was a crawler, but the minute he could pull himself up, it became very unstable.

My daughter is 10 months old and loves walking around the room holding onto things. She loves being in this as she can "walk" from side to side to interact with people on both sides of the living room. The music and lights are very intertaining for her. I love having this in the house for her. Offers a very safe play area.

We bought this (with 2 extensions) so that our little girl would have a safe zone for her toys. We have 2 labs and while they are great with her, they don't know the difference between their toys and hers! We get in the play zone with our daughter and play. She is pulling herself up, and the sides are sturdy and durable enough to support her. We love this product and would recommend it to anyone:)

I chose this play gate over others because it did not have tiny holes that tiny toes could use to climb out. I bought the extension and it makes a nice large area with built in entertainment. I added playmats to the bottom, which keep it in one place and provide extra cushion for a new sitter/crawler/stander. It is perfect.

WE LOVE IT! .. we should've buy this early! .. we bought this for our 7 months old daughter. she already can pull herself up when she was 6 months old. I think it's better to buy it early .. like by the time they can rollover .. around 2 or 3 months old.

this product is a lifesaver for an active mom who needs to do all her homechores yet need a safe place to put her lovely child :D

My Grandson was pulling himself up on everything and falling on things. He goes in and out with the gate open and can walk around inside holding the sides. If we have to leave the room for a few minutes it gives us a safe place to keep him busy where he won't get hurt by closing the gate. We put soft toys inside so if he falls, he won't land on anything hard or sharp.

With 3 older children, and a very active, curious 9 month old who LOVES to crawl and climb stairs, I needed a safe place that would give plenty of room for movement (pack 'n play a little too small). This allows for freedom of movement, plus has great lights and sound and other things for baby to play with to keep him entertained! My older kids get right in there with him to play!

My son at 8 months old became very mobile. I couldn't keep him in one spot for 2 minutes. I decided I needed a "cage" for him that was large enough so that he could still be mobile, but contained. This playard turned out perfect, keeps him busy and mobile and lets me get things done around the house ! But, best of all, my 4 year old daughter loves it too !!
