We use this around the hearth for our gas stove. It's a very large area and this keeps the kids out without looking too obtrusive. It really looks like it was made to match our stove - we get compliments on it all the time.

We use this in the winter to keep our daughter and granddaughter away from the wood burning stove. Easy to set up and very flexible, the only con is that it must be attached to a wall on each end - it cannot be a free-standing coral. I would prefer to be able to make it free standing and even screw it to the floor for stability, but it has to be attached to the wall. When removed from the wall the only thing left in place are some very small, unobtrusive brackets. It is strong and well designed. Puts up and takes down in a matter of minutes after the wall brackets are installed. Installing the wall brackets took less than 1/2 hour and most of that was discussing options of how to set it up with my wife!

Works well as our play area backs up to the fireplace. only criticism is the plastic connector piece on one segment broke while we were assembling. otherwise the gate itself is sturdy.

We have three foster babies, two that are crawling, one that is just now walking. This is a must in our home. It was easy to assembly and attractive as well. We would recomment it to friends and family.

We installed the HearthGate around our pellet stove because our son is just learning how to crawl. After a few different configuration tries, we found a shape that fit the wall space and kept little hands away from the hot front windows of the stove.

The gate has a classic look -- not like a plastic baby gate. Setup was quick and easy and the gate allows easy access to the stove for adults. Well worth the cost for peace of mind.

I bought the hearth gate not for the fireplace but to block off the open-design flat screen tv/entertainment center. My toddler found out that pushing all the pretty buttons on the DVD player, Blu-ray Disk player, Xbox and other gaming systems makes exciting things happen. She thought it was particularly funny to hit the button to open the disk tray and lean on it because mommy would actually fly out of her seat! So I just stood it up around the center and now I don't have to worry about the cost of replacing all of our expensive entertainment equipment.

This is a GREAT product! It is well worth the money. We bought it for our fireplace but were able to configure it (with an extension) in front of our Christmas tree as well. My 16-month-old can't knock it over, and looks MUCH better than those cheap plastic gates. It is one of the best baby products we have purchased!

This gate has been great for us, although we needed to purchese the extensions (we have a wood stove. Very easy to install,Very sturdy- I love the way we could adjust the location of the door, and how it swings in and out. It keeps a nice distance between the kids and the hot wood stove. It is heat resistant too, so it doesn't get hot, and my 1 1/2 yr old is now able to play (supervised of course) in the same room as the wood stove, where as before we installed the gate we were unable to utilize that room. Such a great safety gate!

We installed the gate plus one extension panel around our 7+ foot brick hearth and woodstove fireplace insert. My husband installed it with no problem. The gate is sometimes a little finicky and we have to use two hands to line it up exactly, but that could be in part because it is on carpet, not a hard surface floor. This was an expensive purchase on top of everything else we bought when we were moving, but it does double duty keeping the kids away from the woodstove and the 12 mo old from hurting herself on the bricks. I wanted something that bolted into the wall for stability, allowed for custom angles between panels, and was designed to be near the heat - this does all that. As an added bonus, it's a convenient place to dry off wet mittens!

Love this product! So easy to set up, and it looks so nice. Definitely worth the price, especially since it is heat resistant, so even when we have a fire going, the baby can still touch the gate and not get burned.

We absolutely love this gate. It is very strong, holds up with our 11 month old twins. Comes fully assembled and adjusts to different shapes easily. The best part is there is no need to attach it to a wall as it is very sturdy even without any support. It is very nice looking too. Worth every penny!!!!!

We were so excited when we put this up around our fireplace. It looked nice and allowed us to leave the room without wondering if our little guy was going to hurt himself. My husband loved it because it was so easy to install. It also can just be lifted off the wall if you have parties and when your child gets older. We really love this product!
