Interlocking Natural Foam Mats

I do really love this mat, it is nice and squishy!! The one thing though is that the awesome wood look peals off and leaves a cruddy brown rubber color. Is this dangerous for the baby(the stuff that pealed off)?? I have only had this for 3 months and we use it daily because it is in our living room. So in a few months from now is the wood part going to be completely gone?? I can't find the pealings...they just disapear did my baby eat them??? Where did they go??? I really don't know what to do. I am at a draw if I would recommend this to a friend or not. I have lots of pros and lots of cons.

We received 2 sets of 26 pieces as a gift. When we saw how useful and appealing they are, we bought enough to cover a 200 square feet play area for our active 9 month old.

I have used these mats in the basement to build a "house" area for my 4 children. These make up the hardwood floor for their kitchen, livingroom, bathroom and nursery. They love that it looks like our real floor upstairs.

I am increadibly compulsive on things, however and while I was putting them together, I did find it a bit irritating that the "planks" didn't match up from one tile to the next, but I hardly even notice it now.

We also have at least 11 or 12 packs of the alphabet, number and shape puzzle mats throughout the rest of the basement for various playstations and I am every bit as pleased with these heavy, durable mats, maybe even more so. I wouldn't keep buying them otherwise.

This mat is on our living room where we spend most of our time. Our daughter, 7 months, has spent a lot of time on it in the last two months, and we've had frequent parties and get togethers with up to 9 babies at a time playing on it. Someone always asks me where to get it. It looks great and is comfortable to crawl or lay on. However, I do put a pillow behind my daughter in case she falls backwards as it isn't quite soft enough to hit her head on. The finish has gotten scratched when someone walked on it in heels, which I try not to allow, and it has minor dings. Otherwise, it's in great shape. It is a little too slick for her to get grip to scoot around but bigger babies seem to have no trouble crawling on it.

[...]--I put it down for Christmas (after airing it out on my balcony a few days--strong smells)--and within a few days of indoor play--puzzles, reading books--nothing rough, the color is rubbing off! I've been so pleased with the other mat purchase (the color with the alphabet/numbers) but this is not acceptable.

If you air it out for a day, the smell goes away. Wipe down with a wipe and ready to lay down. They look sleek and blend in, unlike the other bright colored squares. Great Buy!!

Bought this to put in a corner of our living room that recently had new hardwood floors put in. It matches our hardwood very well, so it doesn't stand out as a "kid's corner" as much. We did buy the colored edge pieces instead of natural to add a little color to the mat, and love it. The smell upon opening the package wasn't nearly as bad as other reviews have said. The only downfall I have noticed is that the surface gouges and tears easily with normal wear, so not sure how long it will last.

Since the playroom is tiled, the floor is sort of cold during winter. A rug is harder to maintain and to play on. The mat is great, cushy and keeps my toddler warm while playing with her dollhouse and toys.

This has been a great buy. I have really bad allergies so we can't have a rug in my daughters room and this mat gives her a soft play space.

This product is great. We have placed it over our wood floor and our 6 month old loves to roll around on it. The floor allows little ones to get a solid grasp on the ground while a blanket pushes and slides around.

It did have a slight smell when we first opened it, but it was gone within a day or so.

We loved it so much that we took it when we traveled for the holidays so that our son would have his own place to play.

I loved the play mat! I have hardwood floors and 2 small girls. They couldnt play in the living room because the floor was too hard and cold for them. Now the girls can watch TV with us in the evenings and play without their legs getting cold and if the baby falls down (she's 8 mo old) she doesnt get hurt on the floor.

We put these tiles in our dining room that we converted to a playroom. I think the color is much more agreeable - my son's toys are already so bright, it's much nicer to have a neutral floor color. It looks very similar to our hardwood floor color. A light, oakish type of color. The only con is that instead of the color being dyed into the tile, it's painted on, and we've already scraped off some of the paint on one of the tiles with our shoes.

smelled like plastic. Aired out outside for 1 week, but still smelled. Returned item.

This mat looks great on our hardwood floors. The surface is smooth and doesn't have any texture. Now that our little guy is starting to crawl he slips on around on this mat a bit. Otherwise it is a good size and the aesthetic is great!

We love our new play area. It's so comfortable we occassionaly fall asleep on them.
