Much less scary for small children than a high bike with training wheels and pedals. My daughter was afraid of big bikes, but took to this one easily. She felt more in control with her own feet on the ground. This version looks updated from the one we bought 2 years ago. The wooden handle decorations popped off easily, but this new version has rubber grips. Much better for when the kid lets go of the bike and it crashes over to the pavement. Julia is almost 5 and is showing interest in getting a pedal bike now. This has been a great gradual step toward pedaling a two-wheeler independantly.

We bought this bike for our two year old, and he loves it! He has no trouble reaching the ground on the lowest setting, and immediately begin propelling himself along. He hasn't been able to work up enough speed to coast yet, but I'm certain that he will - probably within a week or two. This is a wonderful toy!

We put it together in five minutes flat - no trouble at all. It's solidly constructed, and I don't worry about him breaking it.

Highly recommended!

We got this for our recently-turned-3 son last Christmas. He enjoyed walking it around the house when it was cold, but it really came into its own when weather was warm. Our son really took to running the bike down the sidewalk and can now balance & coast well. We're thinking he will graduate to a pedaled bike for his upcoming birthday, but this one allowed him to get the hang of balance without worrying about pedaling & braking. Of course you have to use (add) a helmet & pads as with any wheeled sport. This one will be passed down to brother for him to practice on. We've had a lot of good use from this product.

This bike was our birthday gift for our 3 year old and he loves it. We have to take it everywhere we go including the mall and the zoo and have to go for a walk everyday now. :)
We get asked all the time where we found it because people are just fascinated by it.

This is the first bike my son as ever riden. He was 1 1/2 when he started and within days he was flying down the sidewalk. He will never need training wheels thanks to this bike. The seat height was a little to tall for his age but we were able to drill an extra hole and bring the seat down more than the original holes that were provided.

The bike is great and my daughter loves it even though she can't reach the ground when she sits on it. We put her on and push her around the house while she squeals with delight.
It is not packaged well and therefore gets damaged in shipping. I had to have three delivered before I got one that wasn't broken, but it was worth the trouble.

Really learn how to ride a bike--without training wheels.A boy down the street from us got this bike when he was 2 and now he rides a regular big kid bike 1 year later! He's a real pro--like I hope my daughter will be in a year. We gave her this bike on her 2 year birthday

The concept is great but I got this bike for my daughters 3rd b-day & she was really disappointed that she couldn't pedal. Also, it doesn't turn as good as a regular bike. We might return it or keep it for my son who is 16 months.

What I like about this bike is the fact that while not as high quality as some similar premium products, it is an excellent bike and much more affordable version than some of the other brands available. My son truly enjoys this bike and wants to take it everywhere. I find it to be very good at helping develop balance and motor skills.

I was very excited when the bike came. As soon as it came out of the box, we noticed the first problem. The back wheel had come undone. Easy fix right? Wrong. We had to take the whole wheel apart and glue the sucker back together as the wooden center of the wheel was unstuck and about 10 little nails were exposed. After about 30 minutes, it was done and ready to go. Then the tip of the handlebars fell off (the wooden tips are not screwed on, just glued) so we had to stick them back with glue, clamp them, and wait till the glue dried to use the bike. Thankfully, my son wasn't home yet, so it wasn't a big disappointment to him. Another cheap aspect is the seat. The fabric covering it is very roughly stapled on the wood seat, so it looks wavy from underneath. Not a huge deal though. The bike is made of plywood and not birch as the descriptio states.

Once the problems fixed, it's a great little bike! I love that the seat can go higher than the Skuut. My son still doesn't really understand it and kept on saying it was too big (yet he's 3.5yrs old!) and won't really play with it for more than 5 minutes before giving up. I showed him Youtube videos to try and get him to understand to no avail! I'm hoping he'll get the hang of it soon enough. The thing is adorable though!

I love this Balance bike. It works great to teach kids how to balance with the security of being able to put their feet down, but the challenge of keeping them up for longer periods of smooth sailing - something training wheels can not offer. I only wish I had bought this when my kids turned 3. Although it is still useful and fun at 4, I think they could have done it at 3.

We bought this for our son's 2nd birthday present. He was very interested in tricycles at his school, but we needed something more compact and he can't really pedal yet anyway. I thought this would be a great alternative b/c it takes up very little room in our small apartment, and he can use it inside but it's easy to transport so it's great for outside too. It took me all of 5 mins to put together and he loves it! Construction is very solid. Already he's gaining better balance on it so I tihnk it was a great choice.

This is such a great idea! It fun watching the children progress with their bike skills and balance-all on their own. We have 2 grandsons, age 3, and they each have one of these bikes, plus a regular tricycle. They take turns going from one type of bike to the other-around the driveway, up the street and around the block.

My daughter loves it and enjoys riding it. But, the seat is not shaped wider in the back and narrower in the front. The wooden sides of the seat rubbed on the tendons of her legs (nearest her crotch) and made them very sore. She did get adjusted to this, but it made her very uncomfortable and hesitant to use it in the beginning. Now, she is doing great on it and always wants to ride.
