We had another one of these for many years. The kernel catcher was misplaced or lost and I was so thankful to be able to get another one.
My son uses it nearly seven days a week. He loves popcorn and it is ideal. It really does separate the unpopped kernels from the popcorn and you just unscrew the catcher and throw the kernels away. It's a durable, simple design that really works.

I should mention though, that if you put it in the diswasher, the kernel catcher shrinks some and then it becomes hard to screw it on. I recommend cleaning it by hand with dish soap and water. It's not a major task and it keeps it newer much longer.
