Comments about Cool Gear Travel Potty:
We bought this because my daughter (2 1/2) became afraid of public toilets. When we got this in the mail, we put it in a gift bag on the front porch and said it was from the "potty fairy". I think this helped her get excited about using the travel potty. We've had it a few weeks, and she loves it. She's also has decided that she's no longer afraid of public toilets, but we keep it with us as a back up. We also took it to an outdoor concert, and she used it there. Overall a great solution to our problem.
This is great product. My child just started potty training and the thought of having to use public bathrooms was giving me a headache. This product can be used anywhere and not be exposed to any kind of bacteria. My 2 year old loves it! She even wants to use it in the house. Must love it!!!!
Such a great idea! We are in the process of potty training my 2 1/2 yr old son, and have just reached the stage where he'll announce he has to go....and of course it's always at the car, the park, the fairgrounds, any inopportune moment well away from facilities. He LOVES the novelty of getting to use this. Only difficulty we've had is (for a boy) having enough room for him to sit on the seat far enough back to 'aim' into the bag with overspill, but that's been minor. In general, easy to set up and breakdown quickly, and can be fit with standard ziplocks (don't need to buy stock of special bags). Previous posts mentioned being unable to open the side compartments, but if you pay attention, there is a push tab which must be depressed before pulling - I didn't find it difficult. Folds up into a super portable 'suitcase,' which my son loves to carry to our destination. The $ is well worth even ONE of the times this has saved me from having to leave a hot parking lot to go find a potty. Also saves my toddler the 'embarrasment' of having to go in his pull-up when he doesn't want to when we just can't get to a bathroom. Only wish I would have found this sooner!
This is a nice travel potty, easy to set up and easy to use. The only problem it's kind of too small for even not so tall 3 year olds. It makes it uncomfortable to sit on and do the business, especially for boys. It sits too close to the ground, so my son has to help himself with a hand to make sure his #1 goes into the potty, not outside. I think the age for which this product is suitable has to be adjusted to up to 2.5 years. I wish there was a slightly bigger version for older kids (3-5).
I bought this potty to train my twins (one boy and one girl). It is a great product. You can carry it where ever you go and no one knows its a potty until you open it. The side compartments are great to store your wipes and ziplock bags in. This potty is great because you don't have to buy expensive bags for replacements. You can just buy ziplock bags from the dollar store. The complaints from everyone about opening the side compartments aren't true...all you have to do is push in and then pull up on the top door. As long as you do that, it's easy to open! The only tiny problem with the potty, but is a problem for every potty I've used is there is no front protection to prevent the urine stream for a boy from coming outside of the potty. Make sure your boy sits far back enough on the seat so the pee pee will go into the bag. :o)
[...]PS, THIS POTTY IS NOT FOR BOYS. THERE IS NO GUARD TO PREVENT PEE FROM GOING EVERYWHERE. I'M SURE THIS WOULD HAVE WORKED IF I HAD A GIRL.
I keep the potty chair in the car or truck, which ever one we use. LIfe saver especialy when she was just starting out with potty training. The only thing I dislike about the chair is that the side compartments are very hard to open. I will probably just store the baggies beside it.
Seriously, we could not survive without this potty. For long trips, short trips, avoiding gross bathroom trips, emergency trips...it has been used for all. Totally worth the money! We bought extra gallon ziplock bags, wet wipes and we are ready to rock 'n roll.

This is an awesome product. I'm always looking for a good "catch" and this is definitely one. My 2 1/2 year old was early to potty train but often remembers last second.. I leave this in the car and use if often at the park where I park close by. I also have left the store with a cart full of groceries and my 2 1/2 year old doesn't think she'll make it home so I let her go in the trunk right away.. no stress over those false calls ever either. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT and love that it uses plastic bags so there's never a smell!!!
This potty is the best! I have purchased one for both myself and husband's car. Not only is it convenient, I do not have to worry about using public facilities. Although I have boys, they have used this potty so much. It stores easily, its compact and all you need are wipes and gallon size freezer bags from the local dollar stores and guess what it has storage slots on both side to store these items! If you have girls it's definitely a must have because they have no choice but to sit! It is well worth the small amount that is being charged. It has been convenient for mishaps, unpredictable tummy aches, and more. I cannot say enough about this potty. I am giving it as a gift to a friend that recently had a baby girl. Purchase it and save yourself the mess, germs, and most importantly the headaches!!!!!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this travel potty. Best purchase I've made sense having kids. It's so easy and clean. You can just purchase gallon zip lock bags unlike other pottys that make you purchase special expensive bags. I've showed it to everyone and they all think it's great. The only downside, which is extremely small, is that the compartments to store wipes, etc, are very difficult to get open. I usually hurt myself in this process.
This is a great product. Ingenious design and you are not limited to buying special bag liners. Any 1 gal. storage bag works; no mess. Now that it is nice weather, we travel a lot in the car. My twins (age 3) are recently potty trained, but when you hear 'I have to go potty....' coming from the back seat, you start to panic if there isn't a toilet nearby. We exit the highway at the next exit, find a place to pull off the road and set the toilet up in the cargo area of the SUV. They love it. I will warn you, my kids thought it was fun going to the bathroom outside, so at first we got a lot of fake 'I have to gos' until the novelty wore off. I would defintely buy it again! I only wish the pockets could hold a roll of toilet paper.
This is the best purchase I ever made. The convience it allows when taking long road trips.
My 2 1/2 yr old son loves this potty chair. He is terrified of the automatic flush pottys so he refuses to go while we are out unless he has this potty. I love that you can use it in the car or take it with you in the bathroom. After I figured out how to open the storage compartments they are awesome too. I store extra bags, antibacterial wipes, potty wipes, reward stickers & a pull up in there. My only complaint is I wish that when you fold the potty down when not in use it had some way to hide the bag and keep it protected. It is obvious it is a potty and the bag can get a hole in it. Learned that the hard way!! I recommend this to all my mom friends. Even ones without toddlers. My 6 yr old used it a couple of times while we were travelling when there were no restrooms. Overall an excellent product!
Love the concept of this. No mess, easy clean up. My toddler has used it at home, but hasn't needed to use it in the car yet, which is where it now stays. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to flip the sides back up to close it, but now I've got it.My only real complaint is that it's almost impossible to open the storage compartments. I suppose with use, they will loosen up a little, but I can't figure out an easy way to pop those things open. So, until I figure that out, I keep a ziplock bag in place. I'd hate to be out, have a toddler with the "need to go" dance and spend 3 minutes just trying to get the compartment open to get to a bag to place in the seat. Seems sturdy and well-made, though. Thanks for another great product.
