Determine best location for lock. When possible, place lock out of child's reach. Clean appliance surface and let dry. Surface should be smooth, flat, and grease free. With strap, catch and clip secured together (but not locked). Determine necessary length of strap by moving clip along strap. Position lock so strap is taut, cut off excess strap and lock. Remove tape backing from both pieces, adhere to location, allow tape to set 24 hours for maximum adhesion

Works well on doors, tried it on draws just to see, well that didn't work well at all, our 17 month old was able to break the adhesive by pulling on the draw pretty hard. I was right there, so she was fine, draw was fine but the latch not so much.

As with anything else it has it's uses this one is for doors only!

Would by them again for that purpose.

The plastic tooth/clip that locks the tab at the end that you are supposed to trim broke very easily. Plastic should be stronger. But this works to lock my trash can and should be sold at pets stores as well.

The product did not remain glued to the surface; it very quickly broke. It was very difficult to open, especially if you have fingernails. It was expensive [...]and within two weeks had lost cohesion and now is a useless accessory to my kitchen.

The glue on this was not sticky at all. My daughter opened the cabinet right up without ant effort. This product seemed like a good idea but is very poorly constructed.

I tried to install these on our bathroom vanity. The clip worked when mounted strait but when I tried to mount with the clip on my bottom cabinet and stick the mount to the underside of the cabinet, the adhesive wore off in two days. WASTE OF MONEY...

I needed something to keep a cabinet closed that doesn't have another door to tether to. I thought that this would be the solution to the problem. The glue on half of it keeps popping loose, the other half won't come off. As a result, I have a "lock" that is hanging off of the door. My son still plays freely in that cabinet, in fact, the lock serves as a nifty handle that makes it easier to open.

This is a versatile product for places where other latches/locks will not work. We have bought several and used them in various places--the oven, our pull-out trash can, a corner cabinet that is angled and will not take an inside latch. They do not harm the wood, and toddlers cannot open them. The only compaint we had is that the adhesive wore out after a year or so of frequent use on one of them and we had to replace it. But the others have held well for 2+ years now, so overall a great product and well worth the cost.

We have two of these (so far): one for our lazy susan cabinet, and one for the drawer underneath the oven. It's great because although my 16-month old tries to play with it, she can't figure out how to open it. This is one of several different types of locks we have around the house, and it's one of the best!

Love the simplicity of application (once surface is cleaned). Must let adhesive "set" before little fingers try to pry it off! :) A little bulky at the ends, but perhaps all that surface for adhesive is what keeps it secure? I love these locks for all sorts of drawers and cabinets.
