Comments about Dorel Juvenile Group French Door Style Lever Lock:
we have a standard lever door and it would not fit so unfortunately it was a waste
when I installed it correctly my two year old was able to open the door, no problem. But, installing it upside down has been the key. He's not strong enough to open it when it's locked in the upside down position. We'll see how long it lasts though.
Our little adventurer would get into the pantry every day. These saved us! They are great for our bathrooms as well! Great purchase for a good price.
We were excited to try this product, but it was very difficult to install. These are not going to work for us, and we are going to have to send them back.
I did'nt realize you had to REMOVE your whole door knob to put this one on!!! We have'nt even tried to do it yet, a bit of a hassle...BUT it was cheaper then the others, and hopefully IF we ever get it ON the DOOR it will keep our 2 yr old in the house(she can open the front door now)and safe!!
it did not fit our doors very well- so there was a LOT of manipulation involved. once we had it in place, it works perfectly! my 18 month old quadruplets (4) can no longer get into places where they shouldn't be! ;)
Easy to install, works great. After about 2 weeks my 20 month old figured out to pull harder and it would open. We turned it upside down and now she cannot open it!
If your French Doors have deadbolts--no need to purchase this product. I realized that a little too late. Plus, if you leave the mechanism in the "locked" position and try to reenter from the outside--no can do.
i use this product to keep my 18 month old inside. he's was great at escaping before but now he can't get out.
we installed this on my husbands home office door to keep our 22 month son out and it has been 100% succesful!
It's worth the few minutes it takes to take the door knob off to install this locking unit. It is just enough of a hindrance that my toddler gets frustrated that he can't open the door and moves on to something else. Thank you so much!
We used this product to keep our 17 month old out of the food pantry. She would go in there and just take everything off the shelves. Since having the product we have no problems! Our older 2 children, 6 and 5, know how to use it also, so they have no problems getting into the pantry.
This has done a wondeful job of keeping our 19 month old out of the pantry and helping herself to snacks. It was easy to install and is very high quality.
The product said not to use it on exterior doors. I get it for safety reasons, i.e. in case of a fire. We went against that and put it on our front door. Even if a fire would happen, I do believe we would be able to exit just fine. This product out of all the ones you offer fit for us. It is an excellent product and has worked out very well. Easy to install no added holes or glue to contend with.
My 16 month old son figured out that if he hung on the door handle the lock would open the first day we installed it.
