I looked at much more expensive window guards, but didn't want to spend quite that much money and didn't want to feel like we were living in a prison. These were inexpensive and so easy to install. They work great and keep the windows from opening more than a few inches. I have two girls, ages 4 and 6, and there's no way they would be able to reach and/or remove these (maybe more inquisitive kids would...but I don't think my girls would even know they were there, since they blend into the window frame). Plus I like that these do not pose a fire hazard. An adult can quickly pull the wedges off the velcro in case of fire. Overall, I'm thrilled with these and feel that I have greatly reduced the risk of kids falling out of a window.

My 5 year old was hanging out of the upstairs windows. He has been deterred by the wedges but he may take up the challenge and figure out how to tear them apart. So far so good. Once one figures it out they will a three know how get them off.

they are very easy to install, they blend in so they look fine. I am just worried that my 4 year old will figure out that she simply has to pull the wedge off the velcro and then be able to open the window. She hasn't tried it yet and, I will say, the velcro is fairly strong, so you have to pull hard to get the wedge off. I think they will work okay, we'll see...

I ended up returning this item as it seemed too time consuming to install and wasn't sure about velcroe staying put, etc. I had ordered another type of window stopper (Super Stopper, also off this website) and it was easier and more convenient, so I decided to return this item without trying it or taking it out of the package. Maybe another reviewer that actually used it would be more beneficial to your decision on buying this. This was just my opinion between the two.

These were not big enough and slid under my window frames when opened. I found a different location that worked, but I am not convinced my preschoolers couldn't push hard enough to move it.

This is very easy to use and a great value for the price. My kids are little (ages 2 and 4) so they cannot reach, but an older or more creative child would be able to remove this easily, as it is only held on by Velcro.

We live in an apartment building with iron-bar window guards in every room, except on our bedroom window, which leads out onto the fire escape. We installed the window wedges on the bedroom window, and not only do they give us peace of mind about the baby crawling out, but they are easy for adults to remove in case of a fire. They're a cinch to install and are also a theft deterrent. Great product!

These were so easy to install. Just peel off the back of the velcro strip, stick it where you want it and place the device on the strip. I installed these at the top of my windows so the kids can't reach it and remove it. It is adjustable because of the velcro you just have to move the device further away to open window more, or put it closer to not open at all.
