We have a great experience with this lid lock. My husband installed it quickly and it takes a light push with two fingers to open it up. None of the family members or guests complained about the design. My 18 month old tried opening the lid few times and I can tell that she is losing interest because the lock won't budge : )Unfortunately, my not-so-gentle-sister pulled the lock so hard that it broke : ) We are ordering one more for us and another one for my cousin's house. We had it for 2 months before it broke. I can see where it could get really dirty, but that's why you have bleach and gloves to clean it every once in a while. Really great product and I highly recommend it.

This fits really poorly, and even on its tightest setting allowed my one year old to shove almost an entire roll of toilet paper in the bowl. He was about to throw my toothbrush in there too! It can also pinch you when you sit down! Not worth the money. I bought the toilet latch that has an arm that swings over the toilet, and it works great.

This lock worked fine as long as we were in the bathroom with him and could see that he was going to attempt to play with the toilet. It kept it closed so that we could distract him and get him out the bathroom. However, when he learned to open doors last week, he went into the bathroom, thrust the toilet seat up as hard as he could and the guard shot right off. By the time I got from the living room to the bathroom, he had already taken two diapers from the diaper champ and a roll of TP and shoved them inside. So, if you are going to be nearby to make sure that they don't get too aggressive with it, great. Don't rely on it if you aren't going to be a moment away!

I was excited by how easily this could be installed, but soon realized that our "modern" toilet's slim lid and seat allow for our daughter to still lift the lid about 1/4".

The first lever type toilet safety gadget we bought wouldn't fit our older toilets. We bought these a couple years ago and they were the solution. They fit and were fairly easily installed. Generally speaking, have served their purpose. I finally pulled them off last week (my son is 4 and needs access and our second child is only 1 month so not a worry yet).
Now for the downside to them. The part that is inside the toilet gets really dirty and has a lot of crevices that make it hard to clean. Very unsanitary. The other drawback is that everyone that would visit our house had to be shown how to unlock the toilets as they are a bit adult safe too!

I bought this when my first son was discovering the toilet. In order for it to work well you have to follow the directions and put the lock near the front of the toilet. This becomes a nusance when you sit to use the potty. It has to be positioned such that it's between your legs or just off to the side. It also takes some skill to open it. Now that my second son is a toilet plater and my first son is using the potty I cannot use this. There is no way my 3 y/o could be able to open it on his own. One last draw back is that it does get nasty since it needs to be hooked onto the bowl. However if used properly it is a great affordable alternative to the others.

The lid lock was easily installed, but we immediately noticed that the top portion of the lock stands an inch above the actual toilet seat. the kids pulled and jiggled the plastic lever over and over. ALthough, they were not able to open the toilet wide enough to stick their hands in the water, they were able to lift the toilet enough to slam it on their fingers. With enough jiggling, this plastic lid will easily break off. Also- our housekeeper removed the entire lock and re-installed it incorrectly. when the next adult used the toilet, the lid lock was UNDER the seat and the seat cracked in half. so now I have to replace a toilet seat AND find a better lid lock. this product is flimsy, does not fit tightly to the toilet (even with all spacers) and is a complete waste of money.

This product takes 1 minute to install and is very easy to use. Only con is that you have to explain to guests how to use it.

We tried a number of locks for our toilet and this one is the best by far! It isn't bulky, it is easy to use (once you know how) and my very smart 21 month old hasn't figured it out yet. Plus, it doesn't allow the toilet lid to open very much so toys don't find their way into the water. Believe me...my little girl would find a way if there was one :)

I realized we needed toilet lid locks when my 14 mo old wanted to play, splash, and drink the toilet water. I couldn't find anything in any stores or online! This product was easy to install in both bathrooms and easy to use. My now 16 month old has not been able to get into the toilet and hopefully will move on to something else. I would definitely recommend it!

This product did not fit our toilets very well. Our 1 year old is strong enough to pull the lid up with the saftey bar engaged. A longer bar would make this product better. I got what I paid for by trying to save money, sometimes more expensive is just better.

It's purpose is to keep toddlers out of the toilet (who will be trying to lift the toilet seat), but if you pull to hard then the there is a piece that attaches inside the toilet bowl pops off and two of my three already have been broken in one weeks use and the piece got flushed down the toilet...so now they are worthless & it could mess up your septic tank getting flushed. All in all, that defeats the purpose of it's use. Will never buy again. It was poorly made!!
